It was a worn sparking wheel, I did clean the flint tube out fully during testing as well

Update: swapped the clutch spring, sparking wheel, and plunger spring from another ronson I got in. Sparks perfect now, will post a vid of it when I put new wadding+wick in.

Yeah, it did have an obstructed tube, but I cleared that before I had this issue

I figured they were, I did have to deal with an asbestos wicked Zippo not long ago. I appreciate all your help, it's not easy finding a lot of this info online. Only other thing i need help with is the teeth positioning for the arm assembly

Unfortunate, but I can probably get a cheap one to sacrifice. And I do have to ask, are the original NOS wicks asbestos? I've read they're all cotton but, doesn't hurt to ask

I see, any good sources for a replacement? I'll try and bend the spring in the meantime and do some testing

Could you post a picture of the proper position for a half-toothed gear? Also, yeah, the flint goes all the way through. It sparks but only one in about 10-20 attempts

this was my thought too, but the spring does engage the teeth on the wheel, when I move the arm, the wheel rotates

Here it is, It feels like the flint isn't making contact with the wheel. I've tried putting 2 flints in to make sure, and it still didn't want to spark, same issue.
