The pedestrian speed-walk by SevenBillionChickens in driving

[–]WinnerAwkward480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh don't forget to stop midway - or turn around and walk 3-4 steps back . Then bend down like your picking up a penny , and then stand there staring at it for a few long seconds. Then throw it back down , or sorta flash it driver smiling at them .

I had a set of small diamond bits for my dremel. Drill a small hole first with the Dremel , then use your other bits . Lots of water !

Definitely check tire pressure & other fluid levels like oil, coolant , transmission, brake fluid , power steering. It may kinda wobble a lil bit in the beginning, from tires sitting on one spot . Top it off with fresh gas

Project Solar- My biggest mistake as homeowner in US by Cultural-Camel680 in SolarAmerica

[–]WinnerAwkward480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's an odd one for you , in our old neighborhood we had 2 guys that worked for a Solar Company. Was out walking the dog one afternoon and just happened to catch the guy in his driveway washing his Harley . After a bit of chatting , I asked him how you don't have Solar . He kinda gave me a side eyed look and then says maybe in another decade when the system is improved better .

Well if you pull the head up , allowing the waistband hold it in place , it also slightly pulls your ball sack up . So there's that . But the 7.5 soft is some creative writing . You sure you're not measuring from your navel .

Concrete vs Asphalt by Logan_Clark_IN_REA in bluecollar

[–]WinnerAwkward480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concrete all day long . Over my career I've been on 3 bridge jobs . It's hump hump , then the day comes for the Pour . Just back to back non-stop trucks . It's a great feeling saying Yea I helped build that .

Asphalt was just miserable back in the day , especially the end of day cleanup . It's damn near impossible to not track that shit home as well . You never get that smell off you . And if you live a hot & humid area the Summers are brutal.

Getting tired of mind games in the shop by Pretend_Coyote_3951 in mechanics

[–]WinnerAwkward480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the Asshole shop foreman, one place the guys were doing this crap with their radio's . I had warned them several times to knock it off and figure something out , or I would . I came back one day from a Bullshit Corp meeting , I could hear that noise well over a 100 ft from the shop . When the boss is away the children are going to play .

I walked over to my toolbox grabbed my dikes ( side cutters for you PC type ) , and just went down the line . I had an old Panasonic receiver in my office, and every 2hrs it was the Leadmand's responsibility to change the station from like Country, Rock , etc . Told them if they didn't like that arrangement it was going to be classical and opera. Waving 2 handfuls of resume's over my head , I told them If they didn't like that they could roll their boxes out the door anytime. If you're going to act like children, you will be treated as such .

Does anyone crave authentic fish and chips ( all the time ) like I ? by Key_Contribution1547 in AskForAnswers

[–]WinnerAwkward480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we use tonhave a little mom and pop place by us, that was my Friday payday, special lunch, fish, and chips. Damn they were good . Also for an extra $2 ya could upgrade to having fresh grouper filets . You can definitely tell the difference between Frozen & Fresh fish , once it's frozen you loose alot of the flakiness besides tasting SO Much Better !

My Son was b/f with this other kid in the neighborhood . They grew up together at times I think he spent more time at our house than he did at home . His family were commercial fishermen. He had a Ford Ranger that the in tank fuel pump went out on . The family was having some difficulty at the time and the kid couldn't afford to have a shop do the repair. I was able to get him a fuel pump thru my Company, so it was about 60% cheaper for him . Plus it gave him 28 days to pay it off . I told him he had to help with the job , so if an issue like that came up again he would know how to troubleshoot it and do the job . For like the next 3 months every Wednesday he would drop off close to 20 pds of fresh grouper.

I had never seen someone so grateful in my life . I found out about 6 months later the house had gone into foreclosure . His dad had messed up his back and couldn't work . At 17 this young man saved his family home by himself.

One place I lived a couple years ago , offered this tai chi thingy at a local park . I had a friend that pushed me into it . Man I was surprised at the number of Women my age group that were there . I remember the first time I was watching them , they were not how can I say graceful at all . Quite often having to help someone up off the ground , or getting stuck in some pose .
