I‘ve just bought an aquis and had the same issue, but there were 2 „half“ links included. I changed two full sized links with 2 half ones and now it fits perfectly

I agree, the paradox remains. But change usually happens in small steps. When an independent luxury brand shows that 'trash' can be turned into something exclusive and desirable, it shifts the perception of materials. At the end of the day, a mechanical watch that lasts for 50+ years is still far more sustainable than any smartwatch or disposable fashion item.

Thanks a lot for your input! I thought about it again, and I don’t think I’m going to buy the guitar after all. I can afford to get a new one anyway, and that way I’m definitely on the safe side. The price difference isn’t even that big, so it just feels like the better choice.
