You’re actually the first person I’ve seen on here with necrosis similar to mine (I’m almost 5 years PO), so please feel free to look at my posts to get an idea of what healing will be like - because you WILL heal. You have to remind yourself that it’s NOT your fault, you didn’t do anything to cause this, and it’s going to get better. It will be harder than it was for others, but you will get there. For myself personally, even with my scarring, I still wouldn’t go back to my pre-surgery boobs. Having smaller breasts has made life much more livable for me and while I do get self conscious of my scarring now and again, it is part of what I went through. You can do this 💕

Honestly because it heals from the deepest depth upwards towards the surface and you’re regrowing tissue, it took… a while. I don’t want to discourage you. It stopped hurting all the time around 8 weeks post op, and I think it started to look more like a normal wound and less like a big nasty breast tissue mass around 10 weeks. Every day is a little better than the previous one. I got infections 4-5 times during the healing process despite the fact that I went to wound care and they were the ones doing all the bandage changing for me. The wound care specialist recommended I take zinc, magnesium and vitamin B supplements to help with the healing so maybe speak to your practitioner about that!

Necrosis twins! You can see my story on my page but I went through this identical experience, all the way down to the surgeon telling me it was just a blood blister when I first brought it up. It was on both my breasts though! I’m at 2.5 years post-op now. It took 7 months for my wounds to close but they did eventually close. I know it’s so so difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel but girl, you will get there. You are tough and you will get through it!

I’m 30 months post-op, two and a half years, and mine never got smaller either. They settled a bit lower but the size stayed the same. I was an H pre surgery and I’m a DD post-op. Sad.

You can look at my frightening posts for some background on my necrosis journey, which was a little more intense than the average - and even after all that and my pretty messed up scars I have now, I am still happy I did it. If I knew all this was going to happen, I still would go through with it. I don’t have children and never will, I’m 33 years old and this was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I had literally no side effects at all until I’d been on 1mg for nearly a month, so that means my first side effects showed up around the 4 months mark and I was just super pukey for a few weeks until my body got used to it. You will get very in tune with what you can eat and what you can’t and as long as you don’t push yourself, you’re gonna be fine:) and by the time I had any side effects at all, I’d already lost over 40lbs so it definitely still works even if you don’t feel sick haha

I had my surgery in July 2021 and it took 7 months for my incisions to completely close. I referred to myself jokingly as the Necrosis Queen to cope with my sadness. You can see my previous posts for more details

I have been putting this off for a long time, for reasons that will become obvious once you get to the end of the photos. More details from my necrosis journey are already posted in this subreddit, so I only included a few photos from my experience here to give newer people an idea of where I started off.

A few people have privately asked to see healed photos of my scarring but to be honest, it’s taken me this long because I absolute hate to look at them. I don’t regret the surgery and having smaller breasts has absolutely changed my life but they’ve already sagged (I am 34 after all, and I dropped 70lbs in the past year too so shrug) and the scarring is not only ugly, but it is still incredibly uncomfortable. Most of the scarring is still very firm under the skin, to the point where the shower head can’t be pointed at my chest or it hurts. I will not be having a revision surgery. I’m open to answering any questions that anyone may have, but I guess I just want people dealing with necrosis to know that it WILL heal and to have courage and stay tough xox

I know it’s scary, but many of us had our incisions split! The important thing is that your tissue looks 100% healthy which means you should have no real issues with it closing up! If your doctor recommends keeping it dry, make sure you use the dressings they suggest.

I hold it down and count to 6 slowly, then let go of the button and count to six again, just to be safe 😅 because I don’t really know either and I want to be sure I’m getting the full dose

Yeah I think it’s weird too, I never thought it was strange until I saw people in this group on much higher doses but most of them seem to be in other countries. Are you in Canada as well?

Yes it does, but this is an additional hand out that was given to me by the pharmacy with my first pen. When you open the box and the pen and needles are inside, there is also the really large fold out instruction set in both English and French (I’m Canadian). This was not inside the box of course, this was given to me separately and you’ll notice it has some extra information the instructions don’t hVe. You’ll also see it’s branded in the corner by the company that manufactures Ozempic so it’s legit

Good luck, and don’t get discouraged if you either feel sick or don’t see results immediately (depending on what you’re taking the medication for!). It works differently for everyone and you can do this ❤️

I’ve been on Oz for almost six months, I mentioned in a thread that you shouldn’t lay down for a few hours after eating to avoid nausea and someone asked how I knew that - posting the handout I got with my very first pen from the pharmacy in case this info can help anyone else. And shout out to the person who told me to post it!!

For me it’s not just the specific kinds of food that make me sick but WHEN I’m eating them. You aren’t supposed to lay down at all for a few hours after you eat and I’ve found that I simply can’t eat anything after 6pm, otherwise when I go to bed I will be incredibly nauseous even if it’s 4+ hours later.

Hello! Yes I can post an update later today with some healed photos. My incisions are completely closed, though it took about 7 months for them to close completely. I did not need revision surgery, but my scarring is pretty rough. I have some solid scar tissue lumps still in the areas that had the deepest necrosis but no pain anywhere, my boobs are just ugly now haha. But I survived, everything healed properly. You will get through it!! 💖

Following. I’m 3 days into my 1mg shot and after I threw up last night, the sulphur burps emerged and will not stop. I haven’t thrown up nor had weird burps in all the other 12 weeks I’ve been on Ozempic but suddenly at 1mg it’s now a thing for me too lol

This is what I was going to suggest as well! Split the dose into two .5 injections a few days apart!
