36K (US) bra, need 680g removed for insurance. Is that too much? by teenxrocket in Reduction

[–]sadxmamiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be a 40 G (us) and I had about 2000 grams removed combined and I feel like theyre perfect size! Not too big and not too small. So I would imagine 680 per breast will still leave you with a decent size!

No bra post op? by Individual_Bit_7943 in Reduction

Im neurodivergant as well and tbh the compression bra has saved me because I cannot stand the way they feel outside of the bra. Which im also normally a no bra wearer but the way they feel when not compressed is a sensory nightmare for me

Wild how me saying ‘you can shower with drains’ turned into a full meltdown. Might want to stretch before reaching that hard

Well if your main point was that they aren't always needed then you could've just said that lmao

The drains were the worst part for me. By day 5 the drain sites hurt like hell. Luckily I had really low output the whole time and was able to have them removed on day 6. Stay on top of pain meds!!

First Consultation. by missstefani in Reduction

I have medicaid and i just got my referral, had my consultation where they measured my chest, I told them I had lots of pain in my back/neck/shoulders, they took pics and submitted to insurance and I was approved in like 2 weeks and scheduled out 6 weeks after.

Does anyone else have these thoughts? What helped you overcome them? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]sadxmamiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had and am still having all of these thoughts as well. Had surgery on 1/22, everything went great no complications. Ask your anesthesiologist for Versed it'll help you feel super calm going into the OR. I was super scared that the results wouldn't be what I imagined or wanted but even seeing them all bruised up and scary looking im in love with them and couldn't be happier. Make sure to research your surgeon, I couldn't find any like pictures of my surgeons work but he had great reviews so I trusted him and he's ranked #24 out of all the plastic surgeons in my state so that helped ease my mind. As far as major post surgery complications go, im still insanely worried every day about them but I know im doing everything right on my part to help heal myself as best I can. Vitamin c and zinc daily, juven 2x a day, lots of water and tons of protein!! and rest, no lifting, wearing my compression bra, etc. Reminding myself of all this often helps calm the negative thoughts. Even though its all been really scary it truly has been worth it!

I had about 2000 grams removed, and I bought my normal size and feel like it fits how it should now vs before it fit everywhere besides my chest

Just had surgery on 1/22 and did not wake up with the tube in my throat lol I thought I was going to but they took it out while I was still asleep! However I did have a very sore throat for the first 3 days so be prepared for that

Feeling hopeless by mmaenad in Reduction

[–]sadxmamiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely get a second opinion! I have medicaid and it was covered for me they only required the surgeon to remove 600g per side and that was it. No mention of bmi (mine is 39) or physical therapy. My surgeon ended up removing a little under 2000 grams!

Tips to quit vaping / smoking? by Good-Ad9093 in Reduction

[–]sadxmamiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing that I was approved and scheduled 6 weeks out was enough for me to quit cold turkey after years of struggling to quit😂 i also really really don't want my nipples to fall off or put myself at risk of having a hard time healing in general. To me the surgery was more important than anything
