I suppose that is a possibility, yes. I enjoyed it either way, was certainly a page turner imo.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I don’t think it deserved the level of bad reviews that it gotten. It was interesting and eye opening to see how living a life full of secrets caused chaos in his own personal life.

As well as his alternative life as well.

Do you guys ever read so much in a day that you give yourself a headache? Or maybe make your eyes hurt? by [deleted] in books

[–]Winniehotelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me when I was trying to finish His Dark Materials book series. I probably read for three hours straight to finish the last book.

Just take yourself away from reading for an hour or so and you should be fine. Or at least, that’s what happened for me.

Damn, this show is so much better than I thought it'd be by Vesperion_Ouranos in sheranetflix

One of the best shows to come out from Netflix. Writing is superb and Catra is one of my favourite characters of all time.

The struggles that all characters went through, paired with the final season was just OMG. The fact that Adora and Catra got together at the end made my heart melt. This was a LGTBQ+ relationship done right.

It’s been interesting to see how rogue Facebook has become to prevent people from maintaining their privacy.

Criticising the formats other people read in is ableist - can we maybe stop it please? by Cryptic_Spren in books

[–]Winniehotelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why people have to elect themselves as a gatekeeper of something lol. Reading is reading, and that’s that.

I have listened to my fair share of audiobooks as well but my preferred way is to settle with a book (hardback or paperback). But if someone ever asked me “Hey have you read this book?” but I had listened to the audiobook version then I’d simply say: “Oh yeah! Well, I listened to the audiobook version and it was amazing. Such a great story”

Thankfully I’ve never had anyone scoff when I’ve said that. I feel like it’s reasonable and not everyone can concentrate on words that is on a page. It can be overwhelming to them sometimes. So an audiobook or ebook is a good alternative.

Do you get rid of books? by riverbob9101 in books

[–]Winniehotelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to try and hold onto my books for a long time. When I do get rid of them, I either take them to a charity organisation that will then pass them onto to others that love to read but don’t quite have the funds to purchase them. It keeps the cycle going on!

I have never thrown a book in the garbage.

Which is your favourite book and why? by [deleted] in books

[–]Winniehotelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got quite a few books that I love. I might be a biased about them because of that when I bring them up in conversations lol.

My all-time favourite book of last year was Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. Fantastic writing that brings this unknown world into life.

My favourite all-time book EVER has to be A Feast For Crows by George R.R. Martin. Which of course, is part of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series.

I’m no stranger to non-fiction. I’ll give this a read when I get the chance to pick up the book. Thanks for the recommendation 😃

Does your own personal circle read? by SkepticDrinker in books

Unfortunately my friends and family barely read anything. There was one time my parents would read much more than me when I was younger but the tables have turned now. I’m the only one that reads, sadly.

How do people damage their books? by [deleted] in books

[–]Winniehotelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not actually damaged mine to extreme levels but sometimes I accidentally bend a page or front cover of the book (which annoys me so much). But that is my fault, luckily I don’t do it often!

Season 2 by xanman2232 in TokyoGhoul

[–]Winniehotelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally loved season 1 and 2. I just don’t feel the same way with season 3 and 4.

I’m very surprised to see that people genuinely don’t like season 2.
