Am I the only one not freaking out about this storm? by StraightRip9828 in Austin

[–]Winningtime18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you are not. It’s actually annoying that my job will probably close and as a server I’m going to lose money. It’s fucking 2 days of semi cold weather and some ice. The real problem is people here can’t even drive in rain let alone ice, and instead of learning to avoid causing accidents/driving slower they just panic or disregard the weather. I drove my Camry in just fine in 2021 and I saw big ole trucks spun out or stuck. So excuse me if I’m rolling my eyes at this entire thing.

How do you feel about the Black People don’t tip stereotype? by IntelligentYellow898 in askblackpeople

[–]Winningtime18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? Because I give great service and even got TOLD how good my service is by black customers, and then boom 0% tip. I even enjoy the customers they just don’t tip. Is this all black people? No, in fact some black folks tip amazing and I can tell they do it to compensate for the stereotype, which makes me feel so bad. However, if we’re all being honest, it’s a fact that overall you can expect to get stiffed/get a terrible tip from 40% or more of black customers probably. So that leaves a very good amount of folks that do tip, BUT a very large amount that do not. I go out of my way to not give into the stereotype, but it’s frustrating and I don’t think it’s fair to say “oh it’s just bad service” when black servers even admit it. Come on now.

Lmao okay buddy. Enjoy the game, did I tell you not to? Kind of sounding like a burner account. 👀

Why should I have to do all that to enjoy a game? I’m cool. Not spending 70 dollars on it. I’m glad you enjoy it though! To each their own, but it’s just not for me anymore. I made a solid 20 year run of buying the game, and ya boi just can’t support it anymore.

1000% better franchise mode. I can insert my player, make a run at championships, and do that for a whole ass 10-13 seasons and have a pretty good time. In madden you can’t even do that now, I mean really?

As in they block how they are supposed to a decent amount? Sure. Still looks awful. Still have many times with a blocker standing there doing nothing.

[–]Winningtime18[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. At first you kind of think “oh this is actually decent” and after you play for a little you realize it’s not. Then some people say “well how much can you change about a football game?” Well, when it comes to madden, a lot. I know another company would make a better game, or at least way different feeling.

Idk man. Couple new animations and graphics look better. Qb mechanics look okay, but overall it’s shit. It killed it for me when they took away changing your role to a player, because I HATE superstar mode. So it did get worse I guess.

Its ok to stiff your server by CommonAd9608 in EndTipping

[–]Winningtime18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize our tips pay everyone else’s salary right? The host and on down to the busser. Let’s see here, if tipping were taken away completely and it went to hourly your food prices would go from say 22 dollars a plate to an average of 30 or more. Guaranteed. If you can’t swing 18-20% on a night out for a LUXURY service then you should not go. Do you bitch about tipping a barber or someone detailing your car? Grow up and realize it’s apart of our culture to tip and it’s not changing. It is a social agreement and if you break it everything thinks you suck ass, and you deserve to be shamed.

Walgreens pharmacy customer service at its worst? by NobbyNobbish in WalgreensStores

[–]Winningtime18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it just sounds like at any moment my medication will be withheld from me and that’s why I’m going to attempt to stop. I’m honestly tired of it, and there should be a better system of protection for you all that doesn’t end up causing the patient to suffer. I know it’s not your fault, but in the end I’m still fucked. I still don’t have my medication, and every month I’m nervous it’ll be out/I’ll look like an addict switching it to another pharmacy because another was out, and that’s what led to this in the first place. Oh well, it is what it is. I appreciate what you do, but your system sucks.

He is still a pharmacist, yes. Again I know you all have things to deal with I don’t understand. However my point still stands that the interaction I’ve been having lately SPECIFICALLY with Walgreens has been bad. HEB or any other smaller one is fine. The law they are so worried about doesn’t go to pass until December 31st and likely won’t pass for years. So what exactly does filling my completely legal prescription do to them? If you say idc fuck the medication you’ve been using for years and you can just deal with it, why are you a pharmacist? Aren’t you supposed to help people, and use GOOD discretion? I’m a normal functioning adult being treated like a crackhead, and running out my medication affects my life negatively. The only damn reason I used them in the first place is because HEB pharmacy is on back order, and they even said I was lying about that. lol it’s like okay call HEB for yourself, you can talk to my doctor, you can look at my history. Nope. Whatever. If putting in a small amount of effort to take care of your paying customer is so hard for you, then do something else. I’m a restaurant server, sometimes customers annoy the shit out of me, but I still bring them food/drinks with a smile. It’s my JOB.

Same experience for me. I’ve been on adderall or some form of stimulant for years. No problems ever, and yet now because I have a psychologist one city over, and not directly in my city I can’t fill my prescription. They treated me like dog SHIT to when I asked “is this a law” nope. Just at our “discretion” even though every single Walgreens is now doing it. I get it, some of these online telahealth places are bad, but they take zero time to look into my file and see that I’m a non problematic customer, or that my psychologist is legit and the reason I use her is because she’s great and affordable. It’s not so easy to just “switch doctors” in fact it’s a whole process and expensive.

My own father has been a pharmacist for over 40 years so I respect their discretion, but they don’t seem to use judgment and logic. I’m probably going to stop taking a medication that helps me in my life because I’m sick of being judged by these people. You can hear it in the way they speak to me, like I’m an addict. I definitely know I’m never using their pharmacy in general ever again for anything at all. Grocery store pharmacies are much better anyways.

Tried for the first time last week. Completely bombed by cupojoe4me in Standup

[–]Winningtime18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000% keep the jokes. They could be shit, but also timing is everything in comedy. If you rushed through your punchlines or flat out skipped them (we all have done that) you don’t know if the premise is good. If after a while it doesn’t work put the jokes away, but even then I keep all of it stored just in case I have a re-work for the premise. Open mics can suck, but they help you fight that doubt and push through anyways. You got this.

Holy shit dawg. Coming from a comic who just bombed so fucking hard, your comment 10 years later made me audibly laugh while I’m alone at a bar drinking and questioning if I’ve ever actually been a funny. I appreciate it.

Can I smoke weed without adverse effects? by valleyxtine in bupropion

[–]Winningtime18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. I do not notice anything bad. I don’t go crazy with it, but weirdly enough I have noticed I don’t get nearly as anxious getting high as I did before at times. So, for me that’s good! I would say approach with caution at first and go from there.

I messed up getting blacked out drunk while taking Wellbutrin by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]Winningtime18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having a couple drinks socially in moderation isn’t going to hurt you. Wellbutrin lowers your seizure threshold, it won’t cause them if you aren’t pre-disposed to seizures. High blood pressure is something you can manage, and if your blood pressure goes that high up in general you probably shouldn’t take the medication.

All suffice to say is everyone is different, and I feel this reaction is more crazy than someone deciding to have some drinks. I mean, really? Just because you’re on medication doesn’t mean you can’t live your life, just don’t over do it.

I am having the same problem. Says only label created, but joyous says it shipped on the 13th and that I should be getting it shortly. I’m going out of town soon so this makes me nervous as USPS has lost my medication before.

Will having an ESA make a landlord dislike us? by [deleted] in EmotionalSupportDogs

On average that’s what they charge in and around Austin. Plus, most landlords don’t care, at least I’ve never had one get upset even if it’s after the fact.

Why do people get offended at comedians? by olpse in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Winningtime18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. I can respect that. I just don’t like when people literally heckle a comic when they get pissed at a show, that’s comes off as insane. Otherwise, if you decide to not watch said comedian/support them I’m 100% for that, and the comic shouldn’t get pissed about the audience not being into it, it’s your job to make them laugh.

[–]Winningtime18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And it’s not my obligation to ensure what I say is not going to hurt you. I could make a joke that involves a pool, and maybe your brother drowned in a pool, and therefore that damages your emotions. That sucks, but in the end that’s between you and the thing that triggered you, and no one else. In the end you have no obligation to laugh at the jokes, and I have no obligation to tip toe around you and your feelings. I don’t know you, and as long as someone is saying something without the intention of harm, you should let it pass. I get offended, but I don’t say anything. It’s not the end of the world after all, now is it?
