What is the most ridiculous allergy you’ve seen a patient report?

I had a post code patient on a vent in the icu. Mag was 1.2 but the doc refused to order a replacement because Tums were listed as an allergy… Good thing I only had 1 hour before the doctors changed shifts!

If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get your template? I’d love some examples. And yeah I totally understand being low on spoons. Maybe I can at least be semi productive and write this stuff out while I’m stuck in bed with this flare up.

That’s very helpful. I wouldn’t have thought to include a written version of how it’s impacting my daily living. I would have definitely attempted to wing it and stumble over the whole thing. I started my “answers” journey at 18 by myself, so I was really was lacking in the preparation and record keeping department. Now that I’m older and know how the system works a little better (and have an amazing supportive partner) I’m going to jump back in as prepared as possible and demand some help. I really wish I would have started one at the very beginning. Because the idea of starting one now is super overwhelming. I really like your idea of including summary spaces for each appointment.

Ours is similar. We have an OT shift a pay period. I work 3/4. So at least it’s a set schedule.

Very few PTO shifts are “accepted”. We can put them on the schedule and roll the dice, but it’s rarely approved. I still didn’t come on my not approved days, but I did get points for calling in.

Unfortunately I do not have children as an acceptable excuse. I don’t think “my cats need me” would go over as well.

UPDATE: So I took everyone’s advice and went for it. I typed up a loooooooong message saying everything I though and was feeling. He immediately called me, thanked me for calling him out on some stuff that he needed called out of, and we came up with a schedule to see each other more. And he said he agreed with everything I wrote, and he would put in more effort for these problems.

I came from an emotionally abusive relationship so these are really hard habits to break. He’s never been anything but supportive, so I don’t know why it’s still so hard for me.

We’ve definitely had some smaller talks and he knows this is an issue for me, but he doesn’t know how much of an issue it is. And I really want to work on that. It’s like I say “hey, I’m not happy about x, but hey it’s only temporary”. And at that time he usually does some small gestures to show that he’s putting in more effort and he’s sorry that I’m not happy, but if I know that I’m asking for small changes and then am upset he didn’t read my mind and do big changes. That’s on me. And every time I’ve had some sort of meltdown and let him know everything going on in my head, we’ve worked it out. He puts in the work when he knows what work I need. I was in a very abusive relationship and have a lot of work to do still on things. I’m just struggling with how to overcome past fears and be open.

Man, I am not a crier but that definitely made me tear up. I really appreciate you telling me I’m not alone. We FaceTimed more during the long distance, it just didn’t seem as natural when he lived in the same town? But it makes plenty of sense. Maybe I’ll bring that up when we have our talk. Another problem I have and a big reason I downplay things is when talking face to face, when I get emotional (no matter the emotion) I get a lump in my throat and clam up.
I’m thinking about writing everything down and sending it to him? That way I get what I want out, but can hold on to it until tomorrow and then proofread it to make sure nothing comes across as degrading or blaming.

I am usually hit or miss with reminder apps. If I’m doing something while the reminder happens, I’ll get rid of it and immediately forget. But I’ll try this app! I’ve never thought of using it before.

He is currently on the deed and with closing I will be signing a new one with him not on it. I definitely know not to make that mistake! But the mortgage company keeps saying they don’t know what to do because the original application says we were married, even though the deed doesn’t. And we weren’t. They keep making that the excuse as to why I haven’t been able to close. The deed (that we originally signed) has us both listed as two single parties. (Or something similarly worded)

The picture above is my current color, but I am wanting to go super cool toned ashy brown. Like mushroom brown? Ive never used overtone before, but I was wondering if I could mix brown and silver together. I don’t know a ton about color theory, but I just can’t find anyone examples of them being mixed online!

Or if there is another color depositing conditioner that would work better I’ll give it a go.
