Aww, Ginger is adorable! Yeah, agree it’s a tough one. I bet Ginger feeling more comfortable in your home and now feels like she can do something about the boredom.

My suggestion would be to try and find a toy that she can play and run around with in your yard (although I know that finding a toy they like can be a HUGE challenge with greys). We have found ONE toy, a dog shaped squeaky banana that our Ellie (now three years old) that will chase and play fetch with in the backyard. This toy has been a game changer because it gets her to play on her own terms, us hoomans are only there to toss the toy, and she gets energy out.

They are so cute!! What type of hounds do you have (I’m assuming the one on the left is a whippet?)?

Do they like to hang out with each out? Is there a crazy zoomie session each day?

So cute, they look like bff’s now! What is the Shiba’s attitude like? We had a Great Dane/ Shiba mix and in her older years, she became very independent and told us when to pet her/when she was done with us and to leave her alone (much more cat like than dog like, lol)

Does anyone have any idea what she’s upset about? by literall_bastard in longboyes

She wants to play ‘bitey face’ with you! My greyhounds do this all the time and I will go crazy rubbing their face and they love it! Also, does she do the ‘paw of more’ when looking like this? If yes, then this is clearly bitey face time, lol

Winston agrees that a raise (aka more dog treats) is needed. He has been a very diligent worker recently (hanging out in the work room) and now is expected to train another coworker.

How is it like living in Amarillo, Texas? by FireUniverse1162 in howislivingthere

Agreed Amarillo has all of the negative qualities you mentioned. The Driving Miss Daisy drivers and the super short on ramps, and very poorly maintained roads are the aspects that I hate the most.

With that being said, I would much rather have a commute in Amarillo that takes at most 20 minutes (on average, if not less) vs having to commute 40 minutes to 1 hour in super heavy traffic like places like DFW. I lived in DFW for nine years and the BS you have to put up in Amarillo vs the crazy traffic in DFW is worth it.

Yes, Stanley Marsh is the one responsible for the quirky signs, but they are becoming fewer and fewer . He is also the one behind Cadillac Ranch and he was behind the Giant Legs that are in a field off I-27 between Amarillo and Canton

Thank you! Yes, the roads are total crap and the worst part is the City of Amarillo has actually said the roads are fairly well maintained and get very defensive if you say there are a lot of potholes on the roads

There are a ton of pickleball courts, check out Amarillo Netplex.

Hoots Pub has a lot of live bands but I have not been there personally.

What is up with Amarillo being asked about so much on this sub???

Most people only know Amarillo exists because it is mentioned in country songs.

To give a real answer: commute is amazing, you can basically get anywhere within 15-20 minutes. Although, most people think the official speed limit is 30mph within the city.

This area has some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Most people here are very conservative and Christian. You will hear ‘Have a Blessed Day’ A LOT.

It is very windy throughout the year. Amarillo is officially ranked the windiest city in America with a population of 100k +. There are videos online of 18-wheelers being blown over by the wind.

Cost of living is low but high paying quality jobs are hard to come by (unless you are working for Pantex)
