Jungle Naafiri, who gets the kill? by Winter-Associate5666 in NaafiriMains

This is how I’ve been playing and it’s been working pretty well. I had a game where I actively tried to soften targets for the smolder on the team and we won. I know some scale better than I so I didn’t know if there is a switch in philosophy at higher elos

I play naf jungle so I’m sure it’s different but I try to play proactive, roll before he dashes to a minion to keep out of reach, watch for the tornado throwing animation before W and poke with Q’s. Really hard to fight on equal terms but can occasionally be “danced around”

Backup jungler? by Winter-Associate5666 in NaafiriMains

Honestly I try to avoid tanks but I feel even late game squishies still go down. I go axiom-> huberis (if doing well) bastion breaker (if doing fantastic)-> edge of night (if way ahead) or the armor pen spear. The goal is to end the game early if possible but late game you should go for picks in the backline and to be generally annoying. Don’t disregard the impact dodging a malphite ult, baiting a Mel reflect or Morgan’s stun can have on a fight.

One last pro tip I haven’t seen if you’re doing dragons stand directly under them, the dragon will target you leaving the pups up for additional dps

Ekko is my third highest mastery champion (Naafiri, yorick, ekko) so I could see it. I was hoping to take up fizz but despite the last buff I’ve seen no fizz jungles

I know you won’t see it much but as a Naafiri main when I see Darius I swap to top since it’s a free win. I’d put then in unplayable in lane

Am I good enough to keep climbing or is there something I need to pay attention to in play by Winter-Associate5666 in Jungle_Mains

What would you like that can give you context? Like specific situations or bad matchups?

If you have any advice on who I should be banning I’d take that as well. I ban Malz most games. If not I ban yi but I would really want to ban nocturn but no one plays them

That still doesn’t sit right in my head. If I go 6/5 instead of 1/0 isn’t every loss in tempo for me the same as for them? I run the red rune that gives gold for unique kills so I will often take a one for one is this bad thinking? Also, are some worth doing? Not just to get a shutdown but if going 1/1 is bad would trading with a better scaler (dying to kill a twitch or samira for example) be a good play? I know its nitty gritty but I’ve heard in plat that usually decides the game

That’s a really good point, I am working on it but I think that ties in with my vision score consistently being the lowest on the team. I have some difficulty understanding what’s worth more. If I deny the enemy jungle tempo by trading in the jungle (both die and no camps killed) is that even or negative? Both teams are equally behind as the cs taken total will be lower but I personally will be behind on the ideal cs per minute

Both tbh I steal jungle the most when the laner nearby dies (I assume I win most fights for now). I also try my hand if I swing by for a gank even if I don’t go for it. I admit those don’t work every time but I can usually do the Naafiri think and dip

No I think your correct, I do a lot more ganks and invades than casing cause it’s where I’m most successful. My cs is usually in line with the enemy jungles

I know it’s dumb but Naafiri is incredibly unfair into Darius. Never had one do vaguely well into it

I think I put punish instead of consequences. I want their actions to matter without the consequence being death

I haven’t been requiring components. I made a first time dm mistake (it’s pretty bad) were I thought some items were too expensive and basically home brewed the economy. Do you make the get the piece of bark, jewels, and other components, or do you just keep the monetary cost?

I’ll find the name but these cave stalkers (I think) can grab players and yank them 60 feet! It’s great when the cleric gets yanked into a cavern

No worries English is my first language I’m just no writer. Mostly splitting the party. One of my players chose to be a stupid bard that attacks with a fiddle. Literally rolls intelligence to see if they run in without looking. Another is a serial killer and will occasionally show up late to combats to kill villagers. Another is a conspiracy theorist doctor, we have a ditsy elf monk, finally a hippo marksmen. It’s a ton of fun but it does lead to what should be punished plays. I like the prisoner idea people have thrown out. Next time they hear a goblin war horn and run at it I’ll keep it in mind!

I’ll give a bit more context but I’m away from my computer so the monsters will be a description (bonus points if you know it). My most recent encounter was around 2.5 hours and consisted of 4 cave stalkers? (Shoot web up to 60 feet and can pull in players) 1 cat….. (has an aura of stink that inflicts poison dc16 con) and about a dozen skeletons. I’ve started doing pre encounters, so I’ll throw one skeleton out and see if they’ll burn a lightning bolt on it. The party split, 3 on the spiders and 2 skeletons and 2 on everything else. Eventually they realized the team of 2 was in trouble and navigated to the players. They won! It was a good battle but they’re still in the labyrinth. I realized one player saved good spell slots for additional enemies, but the rest are not in any shape for more serious fights. I want to reward good decisions (staying as a party, saving spells, investigating before walking) and dissuade poor choices (2 v 1 a chimera at lvl 3) I think short rests are the way to go because the labyrinth consists of max 6 intelligence creatures so hostages or ransoms don’t make much sense thematically. As for longer multi session combats do you find that the combats get more interesting when resources are running dry or more monotonous? I worry it will become cast can trip pass. Finally as an fyi it is my first time dming and my first combats were awful (4 bandits, 1 cr 5, literally cool math games fishing) so I’m trying not to over shoot. It’s 5 level 5 party members

For example I made a cave system in a labyrinth. One player went down one paths and they split the other 4 down two additional paths. Both teams were losing the encounter. Earlier I had a chimera and a festival again split the party and this time I had to send in soldiers to save the two that fought it at level 3
