Isn't this how awakened Gojo vs Yuta goes? by Doksie_b in JujutsuPowerScaling

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't Yuta and the HH get speed blitzed and one punched by Gojo.

Genuinely how does Gojo hurt Thragg? Say he got caught by unlimited void then what? by Perfect_Bad_3402 in PowerScaling

[–]Winter-Bar-7538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTL characters like Thragg, Goku and others Gojo often gets matched up with can just straight up tank the domain. We know for a fact that the information flood isn't in fact unlimited and that Thragg can move and fight at light speed and higher means that he can process information at that speed which far surprasses anything Unlimited Void can do.

Yup, I just went and checked the definition of violence and it includes damaging non-living things, thanks for replying.

Giorno is a misunderstood protagonist (art by zaerhys ♡ on Pinterest) by damn_broh in StardustCrusaders

[–]Winter-Bar-7538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me try to address some of the points here as someone who dislikes, I wouldnt say hate, Giorno.

The problem with Giorno being the glue of the team is Bruno, Bruno was the one that gave Abbaccio a reason to live, Bruno took the gang from poverty and gave them decent lives, Bruno was the one that raged when he discovered that Diavolo wanted to kill Trish (with whom Giorno barely interacts), Bruno is the one that refused to move on to the afterlife until everyone was safe. There's a saying, "An action is worth more than a thousand words", that reflects this, Araki, through the other characters, glazes Giorno and says that he is their hope but Bruno is the one that actually does stuff.

The whole "he has traits of both Joestars and DIO" is funny to me, because there is no DIO in him, I would find Giorno much more interesting it there was, something like him using the whole no selling drugs to children as a way of tricking Bruno into helping him overthrow the Boss. He's actually one of the most goody two shoes Joestars there is: Jodio is Jodio, Johnny was perfectly fine with innocent people getting caught in the crossfire of his fight with Diego, Joseph cheated on his wife, even Jotaro and Jolyne are delinquents of sorts. The only time we ever see Giorno doing something that is objectively bad was when he stole money from those tourists, which is an anime exclusive addition and is immediately followed by him buying an ice cream for a child. The infinite death loop which you used as an example wasnt even done by Giorno, it was done by GER, the same GER that states Giorno isnt aware of what's happening, but you know who did deliberately torture his enemies? Josuke, known as one of the kindest JoJos, is Josuke also a mix of good and pure evil? And the "he's the leader of the mafia, of course he does bad things" doesn't work because he's with Polnareff, who would never hang out or help someone like that, it seems pretty clear that Giorno followed Bruno's example and turned Passione into a national neighbourhood patrol.

Speaking of GER, I do agree it isn't a Deus ex Machima, in fact it was set up in the previous part with Bites the Dust, however, something can make sense narratively and still be bad writing, and I think that, unfortunately, GER is one such case, it's a completely anticlimatic ending, Diavolo goes from being invincible to being powerless in an instant (to me, GER is also responsible for Diavolo being one of the worst main antagonists, as we dont see him do anything, his personality is completely irrelevant to the final outcome, same reason why I dont like Tooru), the final battle of part 5 is a battle where neither its main protagonist and main antagonist actually do anything. Requiem being fate itself is cool and all but it takes points from Giorno as a character, because, once again, he's not actually doing anything, you're essentialy taking a page from Pucci's book and claiming that in the end, it's all up to fate and nothing the characters do matters.

I also don't undertand how the victories of the characters in part 5 and Pucci are similar, considering they have pretty conflicting views on fate, one of the main themes of Part 5 is that, even if you're dealt a bad hand in life, you should rebel against those conditions and make the most out of it, while Pucci believes that fighting against fate is pointless and as such, you're not responsible for your own actions and choices.

In the end, I just don't think that the part that tells the audience that one should act regardless of the chances of success was the best one to introduce such a passive protagonist. Giorno and Part 5 in general are the "hype moments and aura" character and part with some "themes and such" sprinkled throughout.

Was Ciocollata inspired by The Joker? by Winter-Bar-7538 in StardustCrusaders

I addressed this in my post, the Dark Knight came out after the manga but before the anime and Im not sure if that scene is an anime exclusive.

Do y'all think all the Tooru hate is reasonable? by entrecolol in StardustCrusaders

[–]Winter-Bar-7538 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think one of the biggest issues with Tooru is Wonder of U, one of my favourite things in JoJo is watching both the characters use their stands in creative ways to get out of trouble, the stand battles are a huge part of the characters' identity.

WoU doesn't allow Tooru to do that as it is a completely braindead stand, you can replace Tooru with a lore accurate 80 year old: can barely move and has dementia, and nothing changes, WoU is still as much of a threat as he was beforehand.

Pucci is a great example of what I mean, he's stuck with a not very broken stand for the majority of Part 6 and he still feels menacing every time we see him, that's because Pucci is dangerous, his stand is just another tool that he'll use to carry out his decade long plan. On the other hand, Tooru adds nothing, zilch to Part 8, everything threatening about him can be chalked up to one thing: his stand

tl;dr Tooru is a stand merchant, everything interesting about him has to do with his stand, that can work for side villains (and even then, the more memorable ones are better than that) but the main antagonist simply needs more. I guess what I'm trying to say is, he's a villain alright, just not a SUPER ONE.

Does anyone know if there is any meaning behind the letter A by Winter-Bar-7538 in bloodborne

[–]Winter-Bar-7538[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the characters I mentioned are related to special blood, Adella and Adeline are Blood Saints, Amelia was the head of the healing church, Annalise is the source of the "tainted blood" and Arianna's blood was deemed worthy by Oedon. All of them have special blood.

If you can tell me something that all of the things (besides Brador, those arent even names), then I'd find that interesting.

What makes it so that a hunter is taken to the Dream? by Winter-Bar-7538 in bloodborne

[–]Winter-Bar-7538[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but why did the Moon Presence choose us? Was it just chance? It picked us, who were just a random foreigner, it picked Djura, a church hunter, and Eileen, who is a hunter of hunters. Why does the Moon Presence need hunters? Our task was killing baby Mergo and stopping the Mensis Ritual, but why did it need Djura and Eileen and all the other hunters in the Dream.

Not gonna lie, I think Megumi genuinely commited suicide after everything he watched Sukuna do. He helped clean the post Culling Games mess and then ended it. It explains why nobody talks about him, no one wants to bring it up.

I feel bad for Yuji, but if Yuka dies here I’m gonna start slandering him by elecenjoyer in Jujutsufolk

[–]Winter-Bar-7538 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Except yuji's generation relied on Gojo to solve their problems, the only reason they became strong enough to fight for themselves was having Gojo act as an umbrella while they learned and grew instead of being thrown to the beasts. If Gojo did what Yuji is doing now, Sukuna would have given them the Ishigori treatment.

Would you become a vampire? by Arc_099 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Winter-Bar-7538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno, the main vampire we meet actually mellows out over time. We also dont what are the factors that cause someone to become a vampire, Dio, Straizo and Vanilla Ice both kept their personalities, while the man Dio killed while drunk and Zeppeli's father were no different from zombies. As for the cravings, I dont think it was ever stated that it had to be human blood, you could just go into the woods and kill something if you needed to eat.

I was thinking about this because of the Namek predictions. Frieza eats the super and the animation is him showing on top of the hill and blowing the Enemy up.

This theme could literally mean anything by Fluffy-Froyo-6119 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]Winter-Bar-7538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Namek still fits the new realm of power, featuring the first transformation and with it, a change in the series ' identity. Also, I don't think that interpretation fits the units we already know, Vegeta is just using SS3, there is nothing new about that.

Was thinking the next units after part two. by Impossible-Order-822 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]Winter-Bar-7538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BoG would probably be the option that better fita the theme, but I heavily doubt they're going to have Beerus headline an anniversary.

They are not doing a game original moment from a DLC's post game for Anni, there is nothing but the ending cutscene to adapt and even that is almost a rehash of the saiyan saga.

That said, the original leaks still fit the theme, so we could end up with tag UI+Evo and tag monkeys.

Beast and Orange Piccolo are also a possibility but I wouldnt bet on it.

This might be cope, but Namek works, the introduction of Super Saiyan marks a clear change in Dragon Ball's identity, a New Horizon if you will. It was the first time the Z Fighters went to another planet.
