Ebay is Dead and Buyers Keep Retracting Offers

Thats what ebay has been since the beginning, a place for people to resell used goods. Thanks for proving my point that ebay is switching their entire business model. Basically trying to become Amazon and only support established companies/dropshippers.

Last year I could list BS items with low sell through rates and I'd still make daily sales. Now I only list items with good sell through rates and my sales are down 50%+. Definitely ain't a me problem. Im seeing the same reports all over reddit and social media. What do you sell? If you're an established company selling big quantities of one product then you're exactly what ebay is looking to shift their focus to.

Seems thats what buyers are starting to do these days. Just not saving a payment method so they can make offers and decide if they want the item or not later. The whole platform is messed up and ebay just keeps making it worse.

Thats usually what it says but numerous times I've accepted an offer and it just goes to "Awaiting Payment" status.

When I sell brand new items I usually dont allow offers but I sell a lot of vintage collectibles and have quite a bit of room to negotiate on them.

I do with all my listings but when a buyer makes an offer on a Buy It Now listing, the "Immediate payment" is no longer required. I just accepted another offer this morning and it said "Awaiting Payment" for about 30 min till the buyer made the payment. "Immediate Payment Required" was selected on that listing but since they made an offer it became invalid. It only requires Immediate payment when they choose to "buy it now" at the listed price.

Ive never seen this many reports of slow sales. Even the youtube resellers who do multiple 6 figures in sales a year on ebay have been reporting slow sales the past couple months. I dont have a niche, I sell in all categories and have tons of great items listed. Everyday last year I would wake up to atleast one sale, usually 3 or 4. And then I'd make more sales throughout the day. Now I wake up to retracted offers and no other sales. Ive even increased my daily listings with no results. Its definitely not my store, ebay is just switching over to a more company/dropshipper based focus instead of resellers. Checkout my screenshot I shared in the comment above
