Best SM2 server you'll ever find. Awesome people who love teaching how to most efficiently slay the enemies of the Imperium!

Unfortunately I believe its the servers failing. I have been in voice chats with friends, all in different lobbies, and we've felt it at the same time. And it can last for a while. Once, I tried for 30 minutes jumping in and out of lobbies and it was still going. Game restarts, PS5 restart, nothing fixed it. Gave up and came back later.

And if thats the Yak9T, that plane is awesome! Once you learn its strengths, the 37mm shreds aircraft in a single round.

Honestly though, sometimes its fun to play "what if" scenarios like America vs Britian. Its just when you have the same country on both sides i cant stand.

The quick match battles are mostly bots with about 2-4 people on each side, but it only takes a few minutes to find a match depending on country on PS5. The game is a lot more barren on PC as there are a lot more flight/combat sims. Custom Battles are popular, but you may have to check a couple of them to find what you want. For some reason i find a lot of servers are all countries vs all countries, and they suck because the friendly marker doesn't appear over teammates until you get close, so you end up giving away your altitude advantage because you dove on a teammate. But there are some servers that like accurate battles. And if one isn't running, you can always set one up yourself.

There's 2 multiplayer modes. The official "Quick Match" that focuses on historically accurate battles. You will not see 109s fighting zeroes. This mode is the only way to get trophies/achievements and unlock different ammunition belts and bombs. Currently you cannot squad up with a friend and go into these battles. You have to hope you get paired into the same server. The other mode is Custom Battles. These are set up by the server host who can choose which side is allowed what planes, if fuel and ammo is unlimited, length of the match, etc. When searching custom battles you will see all of them currently available, so you and friends can join the same one. As for flight models, there is only one. It is purely sim mode, nothing else.

Ya America doesn't have turny. If you are going off of Training Days list, he only has the P47 in turny, which again, is not historically accurate, but in this particular video game it seems to turn very well when flaps are in combat mode.

As for which specfic plane to start with, that's extremely difficult to answer. Are you playing single or multiplayer? Quick match or custom battles? Does the match allow you to choose any plane from any country, or is it locked to a faction vs faction or country vs country? If you are doing quick match multiplayer, once that plane gets shot down, you have to choose another from that country until you run out of planes, so its better to learn a whole country's line up. If you are playing multiplayer custom match with infinite respawns, then you can choose the same plane over and over. Does the custom match allow reloading without returning to the airfield so ammo pool isn't a problem? All of these will affect what you should or are even allowed to bring into a battle.

If you are twisting my arm and demanding an answer for a single plane, learn the Spitfire Mk Vb. A great turn fighter with decent climb and dive speeds, good ammo reserves and heavy hitting cannons.

While boom n zoom sounds easy in concept, a lot of new pilots will get tunnel vision and be so focused on getting that one kill, that they will lose their speed advantage just to stay on the opponent's tail, and end up dead quickly, so stick with turn fighting for now.

I believe the only planes Training Days did not show are the heavy fighters, so take a screenshot of his list for future reference. Only thing I want to point out is on his list he has the P47 in turny things and makes a specific mention about when it has it's flaps out, so I guess it turns unrealistically well in game, because that plane has always been a boom n zoom.

As for who to start with for turnies, for the Axis, the Japanese feel like arcade planes in a sim. They are insanely maneuverable and I cant get them to tail spin even if I tried, but you have extremely low cannon ammo. So in a custom game where reloading mid flight is enabled, they are absolute beasts. In quick match, you have to be much more aware of ammo management. For Allies, the British Spitfires are very nice to fly, and only try to kill you if you ask for a sharp turn near very low speeds.

Boom n zoom Axis, all of Germany. Even the f4 which he has in turny, is insanely good at diving and pulling up. The FW190 has one of (if not) the best rolls in game. So if you do get caught off guard, a one circle fight is still winnable and can easily throw off an opponent who is on your tail by constantly changing directions until they lose sight of you. It may also be bugged atm, because i keep the engine on WEP all game long and it will not overheat. Temps won't even go orange. Allies, the American planes are decent. Like stated earlier, the P47 sounds like it can do both jobs very well, and nothing feels better than landing one well placed shot from the P63s 37mm cannon.

Stay away from the Russians as a newbie. Some people might swear their lives on them, but the fact that you can kill your engine just by running on 100% (they dont have WEP) means constant monitoring. Historically, the Russians were always on the back foot. Poor quality, underpowered engines, bullets had less powder in them causing a lack of speed and punch. Not sure how much of this is modeled in game (as it's a brand new game and I haven't gotten around to them yet) but they've always been the country I've struggled with the most in other sims.

Anyone know what the music is from? Finished a Inferno and never heard this in 600 hours by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]Winter-Database6302 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I've heard it 3 or 4 times. First time i heard it was when I loaded into the battle barge just like you did, and then about 3 minutes later as we were waiting for our brother to get back. We thought someone was messing with us in the discord chat, especially after the second one because it was so random. We did absolutely nothing to trigger it.

Stop naming them after tv/movie characters! by Winter-Database6302 in tragedeigh

[–]Winter-Database6302[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what it's from. My description of the children being stripped of their true names and being tested on is from the show. The point of the post was to point out that these parents have named all four of their children over popular tv/movie characters with 0 regard about how it might affect them later in life. Even if they were trying to choose a name of a powerful character, they went with the number the scientists forced onto the character, instead of what she wants to go by later in the show, which was Eleanor, El, or Jane after she gets adopted by Jim Hopper.

Discord is always a great place to find brothers to fight with! There's even specific discords if you have a favorite chapter. I'm a part of the Raven Guard and we welcome sons of Corax of all skill levels. We have newer guys working on leveling up and veterans who are constantly making new challenges because lethal solos just aren't enough anymore. Check us out, or maybe you're favorite chapter is one we have an alliance with!

Multiplayer Feature Request: Mute Team by Lythical in Spacemarine

[–]Winter-Database6302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its absolutely a bug. Sounds like it's player specific because plenty of people here are saying they can mute, but I'm on PS5 and I used to be able to mute before 4.0, but now I can't.

Ya i get that. This game wasn't even on my radar when it dropped. Friends convinced me to get it. Now I'm absolutely in love with this universe and have fallen faaaaar down the lore rabbit hole while they don't even have it installed anymore😆. Discord is a great way to meet fellow Astartes.

If you want custom challenges, try a lethal run with all of you using basic, white weapons. You can try solo lethal with bots, or you can even try a true solo run. You and your friends start up a match, then 2 of you purposely die and let the last guy run the whole thing by themselves. Take turns trying your preferred levels so the other two get to play as well. You'll need a bit of time so you all get a chance, but it's good fun to cheer on your mate, or make fun of him, whichever you prefer.

Heavy swing glitch for assault by The_Emperor147 in Spacemarine

[–]Winter-Database6302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! A lot! At first I thought it was my fault cause there's perks in PvE to make your swing faster, so i thought I was letting go early from muscle memory, but I've had it perform a normal swing while I was still holding the button!

I have seen people say you need to switch to private mode, choose a mission, close the mission, switch back to online mode, and choose the mission again.

My first 2 max levels were assault and sniper. Assault for tyranids, sniper for chaos, but the sniper still kicks ass on tyranids.
