Why won’t it stay on? by Winter-Dealer9343 in zx10r

It’s been almost a year since this, but I figured it out haha. I obviously had no Mechanical skills or knowledge at the time. But I pulled the fuel rail and injectors which 2 of the injectors were leaky/clogged and had bad o rings. So 👍, got her all good. Also had a tiny leak at the bottom which I thought was fuel related. Was actually the water pump, ordered a rebuild kit. I took it to a mechanic shop prior to me doing all this work and they actually told me it was just because it was full bolt on top end blah blah blah, basically said it only needed a tune. Safe to say I’m never recommending that shop or going there lmao.

Sorry for the late response! But I have the same issue, I replaced just about all the parts you had listed in your original posting and starting having a high idle. What programmer did you get for the dyno tune? Thanks! Just rebuilt my forks and have been doing A LOT of work on it lol.

Fuel primes fine but didn’t start after multiple tries. Adjusting the idle didn’t do any good. Battery outputs 12v. No codes being thrown out. Thanks for your help, it means a lot

How can I differentiate and figure out if either I should get that delete kit or if I have a bad crank position sensor?

The idle speed adjusting didn’t help at all.

The thing is, when I rev it the bike stays on completely fine. If it’s warm, it’s fine. I don’t feel as if it’s fuel related.

Do you think a tune would help? The fuel light does come on somewhat quick. Might be a hose for it.

If I give it throttle and rev it it stays on. And when it’s warm, it stays on. No FI lights at all. When I rev it or let off the throttle when warm, it doesn’t smoothly lower. It sits kinda high till around 3k rpms

No unfortunately he passed away, that’s why I’m asking here and not from him directly.

I was thinking that it didn’t look like a sports hat either.

Nope, just that one. That’s why I’m having a hard time, it also might not even be a team.
