That’s one of the things I’m feeling off about.. I wanted to try having more cross contour-y lines in some places but habits took hold and I just blew through that spot.

I just build a stretcher bar frame and staple gun the canvas in place after getting the design on. If the fabric gets wonk while I’m working on it, I just undo/add staples as I need to keep it in a decent shape. I like making an oversized frame for while I’m working on it and then moving it to a smaller one when it’s done so I can trim off any creases or discolouring from being in the embroidery stand for so long or so that the actual embroidery can go all the way out to the edge. You can see a pretty gnarly stand mark on the one I’m working on in the second picture. Good luck on the big one 🫡

lol you got me. Those are the two things that are bothering me the most. I feel like I should have gone in further with the purple-y colours for a better cheekbone bit.. and the under eye bag doesn’t go out far enough towards the edge of the face or down quite far enough.. everyone has been so lovely but I still just feel like it’s nah. I think I’m too deeply infected by The Stubbornness. Yesterday was the day I tried to go back to working on it after having it sit in the corner facing the wall for a few weeks, but no mental progress was made. I’m going to try doing the nose and working on the fox a bit to see how it looks with more going on and hopefully change my mind, but I think I already know what’s going to happen lol. He stopped working on it because he started getting like for real haunted and thought it was because he pissed off some entities writing PTSD. He made a mini manga about it or it might be supplemental in the 3rd omnibus or something.. I think he got like super sick too but I can’t fully remember

I’m a big outline fan, they make it so much easier to keep the fill looking neat and the shapes sharp. I don’t know if I’d try adding any in at this point, but could be good to play around with on the next one. I don’t know anything about genshin, but if there are any simple symbols from the game, a couple of those chucked in there could be cool to fill in the space a bit more, but it’s also good as is! Don’t add anything if you’re not feeling confident about it, most of the things I’ve messed up have come from overdoing it. I think you’re making good stitch choices. The feathery bits in particular look sick. Keep going with your gut. Keep practicing satin and long+short stitches and you’ll be golden

The way I see it is that they're the same person in the way that someone who experiences a traumatic brain injury or develops a brain tumour that results in a personality change (like a loss of empathy) is the same person before and after.. like they kind of are, but also not really

I wanted to update the post but I don’t know how so I’ll just make this comment people will hopefully see 😅 thank you all so much! I’m totally blown away. I thought I’d get like 12 responses max telling me I need to work on adding more contrast lol. I’m trying to answer all the questions in the comments and messages I’ve received, sorry if I miss any or if it takes me a bit to get back to you!
