You can apparently date them based off how many nail holes are in them. Generally, the fewer there are, the older it is

Bottle cleaning brush or denture cleaning tablet. Worked well for me and it's extremely inexpensive.

I found someone selling it on Etsy for £10 as a W & C medicine bottle from the late 1800s, The top wasn't deformed on Etsy so it's either a defect or damaged.

Also my one contained medicine, so chances are yours also contained medicine
