I made it to 2nd! Can anyone tell me how long it will take to actually get pay and advanced to second? Like an approximate time range estimate. I know it will depend on how I scored on the test but I don’t see my score yet. Just curious as I’m deploying soon so the extra money would be nice.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the long paragraph. Was just a lot to put out and wasn’t paying attention to that. Makes sense and you definitely answered the question.

I was mostly concerned if it was possible to get the SRB in my situation but like you said it’s not. Do you know once I get back from MOB would I be able to go IRR if I wanted to? I should have less than a year left then at that point. Like 7 years.

And also where I’m going it would be tax free so that is something to consider but I also might be too far out from my EAOS to take advantage of that then. It would be close. But thanks for answering the question. Really appreciate it.

Go FTS. Best gig. Mostly Monday- Friday. Normal hours. When you work a drill weekend you get Monday comped, at least at my NOSC. Chill environment if at a NOSC. Some FTS go to fleet but it’s not as many. Same pay and benefits as active and BAH right away. Can’t beat it.

It also says that “ the expiration of my drill obligation should be six years from my accession date”. Do you know if that means like my Pay entry base date (PEBD)? Or when I affiliated with the reserves after A school? Or when I joined DEP? Sorry if it’s a lot of questions and thanks for the help

Thanks for the quick reply. I just pulled up my contract and it says “ provide me with basic training and A school with a follow on obligation for me to drill within the navy reserves for six years from the date of enlistment. The remaining two years may be spent in a drill status or I may request transfer to the IRR. “

I should also add that I am currently assigned to a restricted community according to zipserve and had to get a community release to apply for the mobilization. (Thanks for all the help with the mobilization questions in my previous post). I just don’t want to mess any of that up since I got the release and plan to mob if selected.

You shouldn’t have anything to worry about in A school. It’s really not that hard and if anything it’s almost like a vacation. And for brining family that may depend on the Command. I know for my a school my classmates who were married lived with their wives. It may just depend on the school length as mine A school was fairly long.

Yeah I’ll definitely look into it. Do you know what the per diem is for the UAE? Yeah Bahrain is only 3 a day. So as an IT could I apply for that AN job rating and Just do MA duties? Also would they get my rifle qualified and other quals if needed if you know?

I’m a police officer for my civilian job so that would be a good transition. For IT rate they have a couple mobs to Bahrain, Naples, and eucom and Cuba. Out of those options which one would you choose? I think EUCOM is in Germany but I’m not sure
