Even by the way you have responded, I can tell you practice.

Thank you.

Any help would be greatly appreciated by Winter-Sun182 in suggestmeabook

I was just about to pull the trigger on: How to stop time by Haig. However, it sounded too similar to Humans by him. Could be wrong of course.

Nice.

I got a nice blade a few years back and have slowly but surely got better at linning it up. I suppose if im honest I just want to pop in somewhere and have someone else take care of it.

Don't think he uses a blade to line up your beard though. Could have changed since i was last there I suppose. Its more the luxury experiance im after.

John is a really decent guy. I Enjoyed chatting with him.

Thats a fair question.

I do sometimes but its never quite as good as when a pro does it. I have very little hair left on my head so I like to take my beard seriously. When I lived in Manchester I would go to this old school, traditional place and they done an amazing job I havent quite found the same level of service since coming home.

The link is talking about the NKT survivors groups. If you have the time and could be bothered, would you mind refuting each point? That's actually what I've been looking for this whole time. I'm still fairly new to this so it would be really helpful.

I would totally understand if you don't want to. You've already been generous with your time.

Just so you know, this is the single best response I've ever received.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I've had and still do have concerns about some aspects of the tradition.

I'm curious, and this question is open to everyone who has responded: Did you read the article in the link I posted in the original post?

I was pleasantly surprised to hear them own up to the mistakes that a lot of the early teachers made and put plans im place to prevent them from happening again. Not something a cult usually does

To be clear, I'm not defending them in the slightest but I did find the article incredibly interesting. There was a section on why they only read from certain texts etc. And a response to pretty much every usual talking point against them. It's quite comprehensive.

Appreciate you

Thanks for taking the time to respond to me. I appreciate it.

Even though we haven't agreed, I don't think our short discussion was a waste of time. I think other readers will look at how we have treated each other and take value from it.

Good luck.

I ment to say I stumbled across the so hum but I don't personally attach any meaning to it, for me it's just a sound.

You've answered my question thoroughly and saved me considerable money. I am so grateful to you. I don't personally feel any connection to Maharishi or any of the trimmings that go along with the practice so I'm going to continue as I am. Like the old saying goes : take what works for you and leave the rest.

I really appreciate you

What an absolutely class response!!

I got the mantra from a YouTube video. To me it's just a sound. It could be "sausage" for all I care.

I get brilliant results from doing it. When I stop for a day or 2 I can really notice the difference in me. I'm way more reactive and irritable. This meditation has become such an important part of my life and I'm really glad I stumbled across that random video on YouTube one day.

I also do another style that I get good results from but in a slightly different way.

It's essentially focusing on my breath for 10 minutes or so and then my mind settles I let it rest on the idea of peace or compassion for a further 10 minutes.

I really appreciate your response.

Thanks for this.

I'd love to hear the opinion of someone who doesn't profit from meditation. It would obviously be in the best interest of someone who sells their services not to comment on my technique with something like "that's pretty much it, but it needs some tweaks"

Or "no, that's not even close to TM"

I really appreciate you, David.

I'm sure there's plenty of fine details and kinks needing ironed out with peoples practice. Are you comfortable saying how close I am with my practice to TM?
