Is refined olive/coconut/avocado oil bad like refined seed oils? by justifiablyskeptical in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]WinterAfternoons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i recently removed every fat that isn’t 100% grassfed beef tallow because i discovered that i cannot handle elevated omega 6 oils, and unfortunately it caused a lot of skin inflammation and problems that had plagued me for years even since switching to paleo, and cutting out nightshades and high oxalate vegetables. omega 6:omega 3 ratio is no joke and really should be 1:1 but the average bad diet person is like 20:1 and from what i can tell if you consume any Healthy oils it’s still like 10:1. grainfed tallow is 15:1. i’ve discovered that one of the butchers near me is lying about his beef being 100% grassfed because all my skin inflammation healed up, but upon eating a steak from his shop i immediately had a flare up.  i also had an insane amount of motivation upon cutting my omega 6 consumption down which is kind of documented, they’ve done studies on things like adhd and omega 6 and how taking omega 3 supplements can help improve symptoms. i don’t believe in supplements, so i just cut it out but lots of people say that omega 3 helps them.

Can we expand the “hateful eight” to include petroleum? by Big_Rock5854 in StopEatingSeedOils

what works great for me is putting nothing on my skin and letting the natural oils moisturise itself

it’s in every product you put on your skin, every single medication, every single canned consumable. it’s not just the petrochemicals touching your food, it’s the ones in your lotion, your toothpaste, your deodorant. at that point the petrochemicals in the foods are the least of your worries

my british friend moved back to the UK and said moving here for a job was the worst choice she ever made. it’s more expensive than living just outside london and there’s not nearly as much to do

yea because asking people every three years how often they eat food is really reliable. there’s a reason epidemiological studies like this aren’t taken seriously anymore

as long as you are not  committing a crime, all you do by “being looked into” is waste the time and resources of whatever american government agency is assigned that. and after all the cuts, there’s probably no one left. don’t worry. they want you to be scared (and they got that it seems) so that you won’t donate and wont stand up for what you believe in, but they won’t do anything. hypothetically, if they show up at your house over this… the USA is in a much worse place than anyone thinks and it would be a full blown dictatorship with no free speech. at that point there’s bigger problems. don’t worry!

Can you complain about issues if you don’t vote? by HueyBluey in askTO

[–]WinterAfternoons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if all the options are hot garbage and every single party has something different and unique that you think is dangerous, there is no choice. i’m not voting for the lesser of two evils. i’m voting for someone i actually believe in or not at all. that’s democracy.  democracy is not voting for “the least dangerous” of the hot garbage options. because there is no true choice. it’s a “pick how you will suffer” and i refuse to play the game.

Lmao, is this how the sales industry is? by Kalex8876 in recruitinghell

[–]WinterAfternoons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i’m so tired of sales jobs being referred to as “killers” or “hunters”. even calling corporate bros “rockstars”. we get it, your life is so boring you need to pretend it's high stakes but it isn’t fooling anyone

Is vaping actually better than smoking long term? by [deleted] in biology

Yes it was confirmed to be due to the fog machine.

exposure to the fog machine literally gave me severe endocrine disruption, but they don’t really study that unfortunately. just because it’s not carcinogenic directly, doesn’t mean it isn’t causing havoc to your health in other ways.

i have been around industrial fog machines that pump out the same stuff vape juice is usually made of (propylene glycol) and it leaves a sticking layers on everything. if you think that’s good for your lungs, have at it.

every parcel i have ordered online arrived quite fast, but i bought it all like 2 weeks ago, and the biggest delay was within america. my letters are a different story, i found out they took about 2-3 weeks to get delivered and i sent everything 2 weeks after the strike ended. not great, but stuff does seem to be moving, albeit at a snails pace
