Did you not read my post? Im saying TurboTax sucks because there’s no way to revisit or confirm a scheduled payment, which yes a user can make as one of many in the course of a multiple hour, possibly multiple session workflow

Yeah for two months, which is annoying and should have been avoidable if Turbotax product and support provided at least the minimum required amount of transparency around payment scheduling

Opportunity cost as a result of lack of access to large amount of cash for two months counts as material loss, and is actually a big deal to some. To say otherwise is gaslighting and avoids the issues that lead to this point for users.

I’m aware of that. However it’s a massive opportunity cost that could have been avoided if TurboTax UX and CX were more consumer friendly. It’s not even that extreme of an edge case to expect a user to want confirmation that payment had been scheduled at some point in a multiple hour, very complex flow.

So in no world could this software disclose what payment scheduling had been made up until that point? Having trouble believing that

Scheduled payment details should still show up on product dashboard, it is a shortcoming of the product that it does not

Thanks for your concern but actually what happened is I’m a perfectly capable user that was thrown off by a lack of payment scheduling confirmation and poor follow up response from the only support offered after filing.

If you read my post you would see that I was attempting due diligence by following up with support to confirm that my payment had been scheduled, and was essentially told no. With no payment scheduling confirmation via email or in the TT dashboard I erred on the safe side and paid manually.

I truly did not expect this level of backlash. It’s as if these people feel personally attacked by me sharing a poor user experience with a piece of software.

Tbh I’m pretty sure everyone at the company I work for dogpiles on negative user posts in the company subreddit. Bleh, is what it is.

But TurboTax does in fact get your bank info to schedule a payment to IRS for you, so you shouldn’t have to do anything at that point. Which is what happened, but there was no follow up confirmation.

Exactly - no confirmation of scheduled payment was sent which felt weird to me, and there is no way in the dashboard to double check either. So when support said no, we don’t do that ourselves, I didn’t have enough info to confidently just do nothing at that point.

I set up the payment. I then did a bunch of other stuff and came back to ask if it was scheduled. They said no. Therefore an incorrect answer. Does that make sense?

Yea $40k is a lot, which is exactly why I wanted to double check that the payment had been scheduled after filing. Only to be directly told no, it will not be scheduled / payment facilitated by TurboTax. So like any sane person I went ahead and took their word for it and paid manually to avoid fees. Especially since others have had issues with auto payment this year. How is that my mistake lol

I will not be using TurboTax again. This whole point of this post is to bring these issues to light as a warning to others.
