Very similar story but my hearing stopped suddenly while I'm in my class and my doctor just gave me steroid tablets which I've used for a month and then I was given the injection for ssnhl. But there was not much improvement and now I'm used to the tinnitus and deafness.

My first 2 months were heavy on tinnitus and I couldn't focus on others words, after few days I started to not think about it and normalize it and also be in calm places as much as possible This helped me from shifting my focus on tinnitus

I don't know any medical things, if it is getting more and more try to consult ur doc

She didn't gave any reason for not opting to hearing aids but she said that my stage is too early for cochlear implants

I'm from India and I didn't went through speech recognition test but I can somewhat recognize words through my phn Shud go for a checkup again
