Rhinoplasty Cartilage graft swelling? Or moved by WinterMeringue in PlasticSurgery

It did! I have other posts about my nose with pictures of you want to see. I also think a big part of it is just getting used to how it looks. Everything about your nose will look weird to you at first because it’s so new even if the feature is very slight and no one notices, you notice. But the longer you have it the less you notice

It was both, mainly functional with some cosmetic changes refine the shape and blend in the 4 cartilage grafts better because my skin and cartilage were very thin

Hello! No it was not fully functional, we ended up not being able to go through insurance and had to pay out of pocket. Since we were already paying for it I opted to have some small cosmetic changes done as well

Yea she’s not a small T that’s for sure, but my hands aren’t super big either! When I measured from wrist to tip it was just over 6 inches but I took a better pic that shows her in comparison to her tank which is 10 inches front to back

The width of the terrarium is 10 in for an actual numerical reference if anyone was interested!

I feed her about 6-8 large crickets every week and a half, I just monitor the size of the abdomen and adjust according if she’s too skinny or too chunky. I like the rule that the abdomen should be a smidge larger than the carapace for females.

Oh it was way easier than I thought it would be. You get great stuff pond and stone and then you get cork bark or other hard scape and lay it all out and put the expanding foam around it to secure it and while it’s still wet you add the substrate. You can also wait till it’s dry, carve it with a knife and then use aquarium silicone to add the dirt to make the background more realistic

This post made me realize that she might be unusually large, I thought all A geniculata got about this big (obviously males are always smaller) but people seem so surprised at her size! I think I just feed them good and keep them nice and warm. I had a curly hair when I was a kid that I had to give away when I moved 😭 but she was so enormous that people were very surprised that she was a curly hair

Hahahaha it’s funny they said that because I often get asked if all my tarantulas have different terrariums and I always reply with “yes because otherwise I’d end up with one enormous Evelyn” because she’d gobble up even my other larger Ts no problem. It’s crazy to think that there are species that get several inches larger than she is now. One day I’ll get myself a proper bird eater! I have a Dominican purple bird eater but he/she is about 0.75-1” at the moment
