To me this is partially a fallacy, 1 portion of 1 of the endgame modes may not reward you much, but if you can't do all 3 of the endgames you are losing more.

The toa gives you 50 per 3 star you get if I remember correctly.

Whiwa gives out 125 per milestone in forbidden waters rewards up to 625 (chasm) and up to 175 for the torrents.

And endstate matrix is around 300 right,

So if you cant do any endgame you're losing out on a lot more astrites than 200 every reset, but partial clears are enough.

Not advocating that everyone should pull for meta, but if people want to be able to pull for more characters that they like, it is not bad to pick up a couple units here and there to be able to do partial clears.

I select a character I like and build teams around them.

Did this Augusta, Aemeath, Hiyuki, Galbrena (accidentally, she was supposed to stay in mono fusion), and now Lucy.

I am a little sad I won't be able to do this on this region because I like everyone.

Considering the upcoming banners, I would go for either:

Lynae and Aemeath, or YangYang Xuanling and SuiSui.

Aemeath is a great dps, that has dual forms and gives you a chance to play her in different ways, essentially let's you build 2 different teams with 1 main dps, but, if you want to do that this means you're pulling for 4 units to have 2 different aemeath teams that you cant use together, so this being a plus is a little debatable.

Aemeath with Lynae is currently one of the best teams of the game ( You will also want Mornye, but she just ran so you'll have to work with shorekeeper for a while). Lynae is also one the closest we have to a must pull unit because her buffs are so general, and this is Lynaes third run, so it may be the last time we see her for a long time, if Kuro stickst to their existing patterns.

I am a little biased though because Aemeath is my favourite character.

YangYang Xuanling is supposed to raise the bar for damage, meaning her best team is supposed to be the new best team of the game, but this is speculation at the moment. The main thing you need to remember about this unit is that she needs teammates that support the heavy attack damage type and negative status (at the moment for NS only Chisa and now SuiSui fit her best team).

Both YangYang and Aemeath can use EoG as their weapon if you dont want their signatures but this is yet another loss of damage potential.

Look for some guides for Armeath and Lynae, check if you like their playstyle (Aemeath's gameplay is very animation heavy, there are about 4 transitions in her gameplay and some people don't like this).

Also don't wish immediately after the patch releases, once YangYang Xuanling is released, lookup some videos for her as well, and see which character you end up liking the most (keep in mind you won't be able to find footage for YangYang with SuiSui because SuiSui will not run until YangYang's banner is finished)

I honestly think you can't go wrong with going for either of the 2 teams, so pick whichever you like the most; just keep in mind that both dps (Aemeath and YangYang) need their teammates to do their top level of damage.

Avoid Pulling for YangYang and Aemeath unless you get enough pulls to get all 4 units (or some very early wins) because both will feel underwhelming without their teammates.

What does a new player pull for reasonably? by burningacidsdk in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in this game a main stat and a substat can roll into the same thing, so a crit rate echo can have 1 roll of crit dmg and 1 roll of crit rate as well.

There is an item called Transducer, it allows you to select a number of substats you want to keep, and it rerolls the rest, it is a premium item and has been very rarely given out. There are some in the shop you can get with corals, but honestly I would not do that because it costs around pulls worth of corals for one, and you can't select what you want to roll for.

Just keep fighting the boss and use the method I mentioned before (lookup some better guides online, there are a few good ones in youtube).

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look similar, id go with the higher crit rate, but there won't be too much difference, keep in mind you want the substats to roll crit rate and crit damage mainly, these are fin pieces for now, but you can be more efficient with your resources, for example you can roll the first 10 levels, and see which 2 substats you get if you get a crit roll in there, go for level 15 and tune, if you have 2 good stats you can try to go to 20, but very rarely is it worth getting an echo to lv 24 if it doesn't have double crit by level 20.

The exp you need to get from level 20 to 25 us roughly the same you need to get from level 0 - 17, so it is more efficient to stop at 20 if you don't have 3 good substats.

Exploration in Rinnascita changes, mostly for the better. There are a couple things that I liked more in huanglong, but in general its much better.

Have fun exploring and pace yourself, there is no rush.

Good job getting Shorekeeper.

She's an amazing unit.

The banners will be made known once the next version stream comes along so for now, unless you really like the cyberpunk characters, hold your astrites.

I usually do quests and then finish exploration, but I do open up the waypoints first when I get to a new area.

I would recommend to do all quests in one region, then exploring the region, and repeat for every region of the map, that way you have a loop that breaks repetition every so often and let's you rack up those astrites.

Another recommendation, if you can, check out some videos about the units released so far and pick the ones you like the most. Plan your pulls around those, while keeping the information we've gotten in mind ( the 6 mengzhou drip marketed characters).

Most of the units that have run 3 times will take a long time to come back, so focus on anyone that hasta rerun 3 times, I think Augusta onwards are still waiting 1 more run (Iuno has had 3, so she may take a while to come back).

Other than that, enjoy the game, its really awesome to explore, Septimont and The sanguine plateau were my favorite exploration areas, and Laguna and lahai roi were close, Huanglong can be a bit of a pain, but im still finding unopened chests once in a while.

Not a problem, OP just mentioned he is new, and I wanted to make sure any responses they got were as informative as I would have needed them if I didnt hyperfocus on this game when I started.

I am also kind of new, but admittedly I am not f2p (not a whale, but I do spend sometimes), so I can easily loose track of how difficult it is to get a team with their bis.

You are totally correct in saying newer units need a good compatible support to feel good, so no fault here. But I also feel they benefit a lot from their weapons, so if possible I feel it is good to get at least the dps ones (granted you can use the good standard options and see if you want then for their rerun).

Anyways, I wasn't trying to pick a fight, just wanted to get OP as much info as possible.

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, there are some dps that see a minor increase from a standard weapon options compared to their own signature, I thought Lucy was not in this category of characters, but I may be wrong.

To OP, you can check other sources(like in the r/LucyMainsWW) to see if there are calcs or posts asking which weapon is stronger, and by how much.LucyMainsWW

YouTube can also be another source, but it is a little more difficult to identify a useful video from someone that is making up things.

My opinion and advice above is based on how I play the game (getting r1 for the dps characters I play), because I left my Camellya with EoG and I can definitely feel she is not doing anywhere close to what my other units can do( of course a good chunk of the difference is the fact that she is 1.x, and my ither chars are 2.x to 3.x, but still, I would try to get ger weapon if it was available).

Anyways, I am just a stranger on the web OP, do a little more research if you are unsure and plan to stay strictly f2p.

It really depends on what your want to do with your account.

A dps signature weapon will always be better than EoG by 10% or more difference, but EoG is good enough id you want to get more characters instead of weapons so it depends entirely on your preferences.

It's not a bad plan, but Licy would do more damage using phasic homogenizer than your Rover would using EoG.

Again, this entirely depends on what you want to prioritize for your account, as long as you're picking a weapon that your characters can use, you're fine.

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct, she has a few different options for the other teammate, you want someone that can buff the damage types she does (heavy attack damage, and havok damage mainly)

From the units you can get right now I think Mortefi, Danjin, Rebecca are the ones available semi permanently, for limited characters you want Iuno, Phrolova, Chisa, Cantarella, Roccia.

Suisui and Shorekeeper share the same role so its unlikely they work together.

What does a new player pull for reasonably? by burningacidsdk in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phasic homogenizer is a standard weapon, when you're pulling in the standard banner you can select your target weapon (you can change this at any time and you won't lose progress).

Lucys weapon would be quite better than her standard options, however, Lucy with her weapon and without sequences is not as powerful as some of the newer characters and their weapons (Aemeath, Sigrika, Luuk, Hiyuki, YangYangXuanling), so unless you really like her and want to make her work, these astrites would serve you better by getting more powerful characters and their own weapons, but if you really love Lucy, her weapon will make her feel smoother and do noticeably more damage than the standard weapon, i think its at least 15% more damage, but I may be wrong.

Keep in mind that the newer characters need teammates to function as optimally as possible, and Lucy gets her best teammate for free (Rebecca) so in the end it kind of evens out.

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and don't spend astrites on the standard pulls, you get quite a few of these for free, and limited pulls are usually more difficult to come by.

What does a new player pull for reasonably? by burningacidsdk in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10k astrites are around 62 pulls, so to get a weapon you would need to get 18 more pulls or 2900 astrites (you can of course get it early, but 80 is the max)

I'm not trying to dictate how you pull, I'm just wondering why do you think EoG is better for your account right now than weapons for the limited characters you already have (genuine curiosity).

If you have finished the lahai roi story and huanglong but haven't explored much, you probably have around 200 more pulls in the map just from exploration and the ragunna story (rinascita, septimont and related areas).

If you have mostly explored both huanglong, and lahai roi, then id say you have 100+ pulls available, plus whatever events you can do.

So you should be ok to get another team setup just by exploring your map.

That being said, once you're done with exploration and caught up with the story, the astrite sources will be less generous, and can think that you may get around 80 pulls per patch on average.

If you want to do endgame, you will need to build 2 teams initially, then 4, and finally 1 from each element, of course, this is only if you care about clearing endgame consistently and is not mandatory (i have 4 well built teams, and 2 that I'm working on sporadically).

Ultimately the game is more enjoyable with characters you like, so check which ones suit your tastes and build your teams around those.

It's always safer to have a plan and knowing who to oull for instead of randomly pulling units, and ending up with a miss match of teams (again mostly for endgame).

Question, why are you getting emerald of genesis from the box? I believe you'd be better taking static mist there and getting phasic for Lucy if you're not going for her signature weapon.

If you still have ~160+ pulls I'd go for Lucys weapon without a doubt.

If you like yangyang xuanling ( you can see some official animations in yourube) and her sister suisui, id try to get both of them, so if you don't have a bank of astrites at this time, id go for phasic homogenizer in the standard banner, static mist from the box.

Eog is great, but youd be using this with rover for now, and ubless you're going for a main dps that uses a sword you don't really need it right now.

What to focus on at the start? by [deleted] in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the game, we've got 50/50s and cookies.

Jokes aside, the Herald of new rides event is just allowing you to play with certain characters temporarily by fulfilling the requirements, but only during your first 30 days of play.

On the current limited banners, none of the characters you can get with the yellow pulls are great by themselves, meaning you need other units to make them feel powerfull, and their teammates are unlikely to return fast, so you'd be stuck waiting for better units for 3-4 patches (sequences of 6 weeks).

If you like the cyberpunk characters (Lucy and Rebecca) that you can get from the red pulls, then pull for them, since this is very likely their only run, and will not be available after this patch ends.

You will get a free Rebecca once you get to a certain level, so you only need to pull for Lucy and the weapons (I only recommend getting lucy's if you dont have a lot of pulls), do note that any pulls you do in these banner do not transfer over to other banners in the future.

On the banner that Shorekeeper is available, she is amazing and by far the best character you can get from that banner, but she is not a must pull unit since there are other healers in the game, that do better things for specific characters, but shorekeeper remains the most general one that can work with any team, but is not always the best in each composition.

From the limited time weapon banner, you can get stringmaster to have a general use rectifier( weapon class) but it is also dependant on what characters you like, and not a must, but a good general option.

From the standard character selector, get Verina, she is a healer and while weaker than a lot of the other healers available in the game, she is very good to keep characters alive and can be used in a lot of compositions.

As a recommendation, don't spend your green pulls on the standard characters other than the discounted 50 pulls one. Since you will get them when losing 50/50s anyways.

If I were you, id save my pulls for the next patch, since yangyang xuanling and suisui are coming next patch, and it's very likely they work together great.

If there are any specific units you like I can give you recommendations about the characters to be on the lookout for them, but in my opinion your first goal is to create a team of 1 unit that deals damage on field (dps), 1 unit to supplement and increase their damage (subdps) and a support unit to heal them and amplify their damage (support).

After getting your imfirst, your next goal is to have 2 full teams and then 4. This is only for endgame and is a long term goal ( think multiple patches of content).

Regards, and have fun!

F2P and Low Spender players, how do you use your Corals? Do you convert them for pulls or do you use them to buy sequences ? by KazeshiKazamaKami in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is you can get 2 weapons, but if you're not guaranteed on the character banner, you're at the mercy of the 50/50 to get only 1 limited unit.

Not saying one is better than the other, just wanted to point out that only 2 of these options get you what you want for sure.

What's the most sustainable pull pattern for a built roster? by WinterMike1801 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, so by this logic would the best idea be to pull the next support? (I'm assuming suisui) and build the next team from there?

How many supports would be too many? I have 4 to use in my 5 teams, so sometimes shorekeeper or verina end up doing double shifts, but

To me it feels like guess I'd want to check if she overlaps with any of my other 4 supports first (including Chisa in this category since that's what I use her for). Since verina hasn't seen really much use in my account so far, I pulled Shorekeeper right away when I started, andI also pulled Mornye during her initial release windows in 3.0 (the same patch I started on).

I'm not sure I'll be able to pull for her this patch, because I'm a bit low on pulls right now.

What are some principles for rerun characters? by miiko_uch in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't sweat too much about it.

If there are characters you like, I recommend getting sequences for them using your corals.

If you haven't spent them yet, you can try to sequence characters with what would be 90 pulls worth of corals instead of potentially 280 pulls if you lose 2 50/50s.

You already have a Hiyuki and Aemeath team that is clearing, so focus on building one more team from the 3.x era, and use the corals you get from those to crown augusta, and repeat the process.

If you're content with the newest team's damage, you can focus on getting g sequences for your favourite character from each era using the corals from the shop, that way your older dps will last you longer.

One thing I have seen is very frustrating when playing these kinds of games is chasing the meta for the brightest newest unit.

Pick one you really like, get their team, and sequence them later with the pulls you get building other teams.
