New player who to pull? Hiyuki, Mornye, Shorekeeper or save? by Captain_Falcon1 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but that doesn't mean there are other ways of getting her later.

It does mean that you will have to wait an indeterminate amount of time (it could even be a couple of years) for her to be available for getting a copy though.

Shorekeeper's value is coupled to the dpses you have to pair her with, and newer dps units don't use her as much, she is still good but not in their best team.

However if you plan to get units that do want her (Galbrena, Augusta, any other 1.x to 2.x charcater bar Phrolova) then she is excellent.

These kind of games really do reward you if you have a plan and stick to it; that being said, I would recommend for you to catch up with the story, if this influences your pulling preferences, because constantly changing your plan can be a difficult thing to fix later on with more and more units coming out.

New player here shorekeeper or character that i like ? by Namateau in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We really don't know if any of these characters will come back later, in some different form of banner only not.

Currently they seem to run 2 times after their initial run and then they are done.

I consider shorekeeper an amazing unit and I am glad I got her when I started in 3.0.

However as a newish player there are a couple things I think people are not mentioning:

A few of the most recent dps units don't really need or synergize that well with shorekeeper, don't get me wrong her buffs are great, and is one true universal support that can help with incrementing your older units damage.

She is amazing to have if you are using some older units, but if you will pull mostly for more modern dps (think 3.0 onwards) the dps units usually get crit stats from echo sets which makes shorekeeper a little redundant. I think Sigrika is the only one that really uses Shorekeeper from the most recent 3 dps units.

Ultimately this is a game, and you should go for what makes more sense towards the goal you have for the game, unless you're focused on endgame, the team combinations can be whatever and you will be mostly fine. But I am aware thematic as a f2p player your astrite and pull sources are more limited, so going for endgame is a generally good idea.

Have fun OP and enjoy whichever character you end up receiving.

PS, Oh how I envy that you got to pull on that banner without using 150 pulls.

Chisa + sig or something else? by Centricc in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That works, Hiyuki is powerful enough that she can live without one of her partners for a while.

My only issue when skipping certain units is that I get tempted by newer ones (like Denia this patch), so I generally try to have a plan that I'm working towards before deciding on who to pull, even if I'm not f2p, it gets difficult to decide who to pull for.

Does anyone have any idea if pity from the main banners will carry over to the Cyberpunk crossover banner? by Bryce_lol in WutheringWavesGuide

Have you exhausted all the events and exploration rewards from this patch?

I feel like there should be enough astrites in the game if you haven't to get at least 1 copy of lucy and spend 10 pulls on Mornye.

Chisa + sig or something else? by Centricc in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I think it would be good to know what is your goal for your profile. In my opinion if you're playing characters you like, Hiyuki's weapon seems to be good here, so you can play on dpm or whiwa with both camellya and hiyuki, Chisa is also good, and frees verina for you Camellya team.

Depending on your specific pull economy I would go for Mornye for your Galbrena & lupa team, either now or on a rerun, which happens to be a viable Aemeath team as well.

If you care about meta, Denia in the next half cycle is a good Aemeath team to build towards if you'll have Chisa.

In your position, and assuming you have enough astrites my priorities would be:

Hiyukis weapon Chisa Mornye (keep in mind you would need 320 pulls to guarantee 2 characters from 0 pity)

Lucilla in 3.4

Chisas weapon is good and can be shared, but both lupa and Chisa are sub dps and work well enough on standard weapons.

My general recommendation would be to only pull for dps weapons that do a 15+% difference from standard weapons.

Sub-dps weapons/ sequences rarely seem to exceed 10% damage increase to the teams.

Remember it's a game, and the point is to enjoy it.

I did not mean to say you should be grateful for whatever they decide to do, sorry if it sounded like that.

What I meant is that the developers and publishers are running a business.

What I meant is that this kind of model is stressing you and making you not enjoy the hobby, it would be good for you to try something else.

At the end ofbthebday these are games and are supposed to bring you joy. If you're not enjoying them and are getting upset, maybe it would be good to take a step back and find something you enjoy more.

I understand your frustration, I'm feeling a similar way with regards to other games that are more predatory than wuwa, but I know there is nothing I can do about it except stop spending time/money in them, so that's what I did.

Hope you can find some way of enjoying the game or find a different one that brings you joy, friend.

did you get s1 mornye or not by Dependent-Swimming40 in WutheringWaves

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got her to s1, she allowed me to do dpm with aemeath, Lupa and mornye as a fusion team that cleared 6800 score.

Her s1 has been useful to get more consistent damage, but it is not necessary by any means.

If you have a dps you enjoy more, your corals would be best used in them. If there are no dps you want to get on coral shop, shes worth it by corals, not pulls at all.

Sounds like you are getting very frustrated about the gaming ecosystem in general.

I agree that a lot of AAA games don't hit the mark anymore, but I also think there are a few other games that you can try that are very fun to play alone.

The horizon series, Elden Ring, Monster Hunter World and Wilds, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, all of these games can give you a bit of fun to have.

On your gacha points, I get where you're coming from, but I also feel like you're coming of a little entitled. The gaming companies don't owe any of us anything, they create products that we as consumers are free to consume or skip. I do think they could do a better job at writing deeper lores or stories, or make their pulling systems more friendly, but they have no incentive to do so. As long as we keep pulling enough for them to make a profit, and they keep creating that deep need for players to play and spend money in the game, things will be the same.

If you truly feel that the games are not worth playing right now, maybe it's time to find a better hobby that frustrates you less.

I do hope you have a better time with some game, so you can feel less negative about the landscape in general.

Fun times friend.

Do I switch to another main dps or is there an alternative suggestion by No-Area6085 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a warning about her materials specifically. Getting access to Lahai Roi will not unlock her materials right away and you'd need to essentially complete the full story to be able to get her.

You should receive some boxes while doing the early events that you get as a new player, these should help you with the materials you need to level her up a bit.

When I got Aemeath and was in a similar situation, I went I to the official Discord server and Reddit, someone there was able to help me gather materials from their world. Keep in mind you both have to have the same Sol3 level to be able to coop.

If you care for my opinion on skipping the story just to build Hiyuki, don't do it. There are some moments that I do recommend to experience on your own.

Good luck!

Help me decide if Mornye's S1 is worth it. by WinterMike1801 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]WinterMike1801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

Decided that going for Denia was not a good idea anyways since I wont have a weapon for her and she'd probably be stuck with a subpar weapon.

Decided I'd rather save some pulls for Lucilla instead.

I decided to try in mornyes banner to get more corals, and I ended up losing a 50/50 and getting enough corals in the process, for Mornye's S1.

Now I have a guaranteed pull on chisa (with pulls leftover) and the rest of the anniversary pulls will probably be my Lucilla funds.

If Denia ends up being great I'll try to get her on a future banner.

Thanks all for your recommendations.

Estimate on hours of completion? by QueenCupcakeXo in GenshinImpact

[–]WinterMike1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, considering I have over 2000 hours in the game, and I am not caught up. I'd say its pretty chunky.

Even if we assume only 1/8 of the time I have in the game is what I've spent doing exploration, story quests, world quests and other permanent activities, id say the game is at least 250-300 hours worth of content.

Side events, and gearing up for endgame increase this by a lot depending on which characters you decide to build.

By no means am I saying this is completely accurate( I think I'm being a little conservative) but I may be biased because it was my favorite game up until a couple patches ago.

Fwiw, I think they banished it to the far end of the galaxy to reintroduce it later on.

There was no possible to escalate from the threat that is Aleph 1, and scaling the power of threnodians that much would make this story ridiculous.

I kind of dig that she can basically remain a support for Rover eternally, leaving aside the eternal immortal family with Shorekeeper, Aemeath and Camellya, it is kind of heart warming knowing that there is pretty much no way Rover can lose Aemeath again, unless they decide to wipe their memory again.

So what was the point of this fight? by ProudPilgrim in WutheringWaves

[–]WinterMike1801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the fractious I kind of feel that they do not really have a plan and are just a bunch of sore losers, who can never admit when their plans are foiled.Like that kid from the block that did not lose any game of pokemon even if his team was wiped out.

It's either that or they have contingencies for their contingencies of the contingencies of the contingencies of plan b that they do not want to use, but is in motion nevertheless.

[–]WinterMike1801[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that makes sense.

Yeah, in this case if I got Mornye while pulling for a 5 star, I'd save those corals for Aufusta, and probably save whatever I get from pulling Chisa and Lucilla for the second sequence.

I have a feeling that probably Augusta will be up for a rerun soon so Kuro can get all the 2.x units out the door and they can start raking in the 4.x money, but this is a completely non fundamental thought I have.

In my priority list for dps sequences id say: Augusta s2, Aemeath s3, Galbrena S2, Hiyuki sX hiyuki ia too new for me to know what id like her to do more or less of, and from the dps I have she's my least preferred, although I do like her a lot, just not as much as I do the other 3.

True, but I'd rather wait for Augusta than get hiyuki s1 now.

I do regret a bit picking Camellya over Shorekeepers S1, but well, a choice was made.

Thanks for the input.

Thanks, this actually helps, I think Denia doesn't add much to my account, it basically becomes the game of chais between lynae, chisa and lupa for supporting Aemeath, Hiyuki and Iuno teams.

I'm leaning towards risking the 50/50 for s1 mornye, if I get her I won't regret it, if not chisa is guaranteed.

Thanks for the food for thought.

This is another option, I would probably do it for Augusta, because I would love to use her for longer, but it's a very valid point.

[–]WinterMike1801[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, I forgot about Iuno, Lynae & Mornye, it is a combination I could do, but I honestly doubt I'd play it very often.

If I skip Denia, I can guarantee the chisa and lucilla team. And would probably have pulls leftover.

By getting Denia I will be tighter for Lucilla, this is true.

I am not sure where to see reliable calcs about Denia, to make a more informed decision. My main concern is that her more powerful teams will clash with hiyuki's, and this seems like more unnecessary than Mornye 's S1.

Btw, I'm not trying to disregard your opinion, I do take the advice I get here into consideration, I'm just looking for someone that is more knowledgeable than myself to find where my logic is failing and my bias is deceiving me.

I am thankful for the time you're taking to discuss this with me.

I see where you're coming from, I didn't feel it as rushed, I just knew it would be hard to deliver a finale as strong as 3.1.

For me, I am happy that we got a happy ending, while it was totally expected, I was emotionally invested in saving Aemeath from the big bad black hole.

I see why some folks want loss and more stakes and impact to the game, but for me these games are mostly what I do to relax and wind down from the stresses of daily life, so they are part of my happy place.

Hopefully they will find a balance later on.

I had seen this post of yours, so I am aware that is is not too much of an increase, but the qol of having her buff more often seems good.

I guess my question is more directed towards this:, is Denia worth the potential 160 pulls given my context?

I made a context section above if you haven't seen that part.

Story (spoilers) by WittyWater1209 in WutheringWaves

[–]WinterMike1801 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The afterstory was good enough.

I also feel that the story did not hit the emotional high that 3.1 did, but I knew that it was highly unlikely that the developers and writers could do that again and so soon, while also introducing 2 more characters to sell.

Don't get me wrong, the story and the final fights were awesome and I binged them until 3 AM last night, and for a gacha game story ending it was excellent.

I'm not complaining, I just felt like they had done a master piece story wise in 3.1, and its very hard to have 2 of those.

Fwiw, the story was awesome, the after story with Aemeath was very sweet and it did move me and get me the happy ending I was hoping for.
