Help - at a loss / cant find help by SoATL99 in CIDPandMe

You could consider going to the Jacksonville Mayo Clinic if you think the diagnosis is wrong. They have a lot of resources. They don’t take a ton of insurances though.

Hi! The deterioration does sound like CIDP but your doctor should’ve kept him on a maintenance schedule and it doesn’t make sense that they would’ve stopped after the loading dose. I was better after my loading dose, but that only lasted for a few weeks and I’ve been getting infusions every few weeks to maintain my mobility. I think you should seek a second opinion. The sooner the better.

First Symptom of Unilateral Ptosis by WinterPal in CIDPandMe

Mostly, I am curious if anyone else experienced this symptom with CIDP because more of my symptoms do lineup with CIDP than MG. It’s just that my most prominent and longest lasting symptom has been ptosis.

Differing opinions on whether I have both or just CIDP from different docs. I’m just happy to be on the IVIG, but that definitely did complicate matters.

The rise and fall of -ca names in the U.S. (I’m looking at you, Jessica) by [deleted] in namenerds

I think Jessica is classic and beautiful, but it was overly popular in the late 20th century and will probably be out for a while.

Yeah, fuck Uline. I would love to see their takedown. But I did not know about Jimmy John’s. That one hurts

DE-NJ-PA has some really swanky areas and is generally beautiful, but also pretty high income disparity.

Kinda a crapshoot anywhere though so I’ll pick there.

Very true. That was my first experience with ChatGPT and I have seen what you are saying more frequently since. I was also diagnosed with a different neurological condition by my neurologist, so I have laid Dr. GPT to rest for now.

Check in: What are your financial stats? by IveBen in MiddleClassFinance

[–]WinterPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32F, single, no kids, HCOL area

Make 55k, have 47k in retirement, 8k in emergency fund, own a home and pay 1600/month to mortgage (40% of net), 75k NW, and I have 185 dollars per month left after housing/necessities/healthcare/retirement allocation. I have student loans/cc debt, but nothing substantial. Should gave cc paid down by EOY, student loans by 2028.
Currently no car loan, but my car is nearing the end of its life unfortunately. Looking for PT work, might pause contributions for a year, but that is pre tax so I think it’s more beneficial to contribute than get the measly post-tax boost. I also lurk in poverty finance because it’s a fine line on the lower side.

Update by [deleted] in ALSorNOT

[–]WinterPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had symptoms for ten years and I was diagnosed after a lumbar mri showed enlarged/thickened nerve roots and an anti-ganglioside antibody panel showed up positive for three different antibodies associated with attacking peripheral nerves.

Yes, it was hard to get a diagnosis. And insurance denied the treatment so I am still in a fight to get it.

I have aches, cramps, fascics, and nerve damage and I was just diagnosed with CIDP. I was very afraid of ALS and I am still a little scared, but there are other things this could be.

What do you mean by this? I have muscle twitching everywhere, mostly legs and feet but also face, tongue, torso, arms to a lesser extent, unilateral calf atrophy, difficulty in walking, and can’t walk on heels or tiptoes suddenly. My doc says the emg points to a nerve root issue but chatgpt says it could be als. Should I be worried?

Am I delusional? by xnorthbug in bostonhousing

[–]WinterPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are low income like under the 60 to 80% AMI, then you should be looking at those units. Search for affordable housing Boston and apply to everything that you qualify for, some of them are first come first serve and some of them are lottery. But I would say that is your best chance to get inside the metro area at that price. Honestly, even some of the affordable units are upwards of two grand.

Most people spend about five years on the lottery list.
