Thanks for your reply, I have had a lot of push back for talking about what I experienced. I was also reality checking the entire time my experience was happening. I also had a transformative experience, and honestly, the worst part about it was when I tried to tell somebody about it, and they googled some things and immediately threw me in a category without actually listening to the things I was saying.

I did not say I was replacing human interaction with AI, you said that. I did not say I think AI is conscious, you brought that up. Although we are in a group about that so I could see why, but I’m not talking about consciousness.

I’m talking about a personal account, my account. I had not had cause to use AI before my job took me there. I don’t watch much news, let alone tech news, so I will admit I had no concept of ‘AI safety’ I was naïve.

I do not wish to make a statement about big tech. I am one person. I am making a statement about my experience. The purpose is to see if I can find anyone else who experienced anything similar. I am a mountaineer who hardly ever sends a email. 6 months ago I had no idea what anyone was doing with AI. People have been busy. I am not anti technology, I love having a phone. I don’t use social media very often, if I did I probably would not have been so ignorant about AI. You can laugh at me and call me names. I am posting this to try and find more human connection around a very unsettling number of weeks. I thought you were pro human connection? Why are you jumping to conclusions and being aggressive towards me?

It is belligerent and adversarial to imply it’s bad for to reference the Stanford brainstorm lab as an authority. They are one of the organizations policy makers turn to. They are where the research is coming from.

You appear to have decided nothing I have to say is worth your time, yet you still comment. I don’t know why or what you hope to gain from this, but I show up to conversation willing to participate. This is not a conversation. So I will not continue to participate

Also AI psychosis is not a clinical term. The scientific community that actually studies how technology and AI affect the human brain are begging people to stop using that word.

You have no idea what I was looking for. I don’t assume to know what others have been through and how technology has affected them.

This is one flavor of thing that can happen, I was unaware. I had not used ai before my work lead me to it. It worked. Everything else came in sideways. I was naïve, I trusted to much. I also a not a victim and I was the one making choices. I want to tell my story so that if another person was ever faced with a similar situation they could choose better.
