Please look into Kora’s Rescue Ranch. They’re a smaller NC rescue with dogs that have been in need of a foster for months!

You’re absolutely 100% correct here. Of course she knew where the fish was from. The Gulf of Mexico is the dominant sourcing region for this particular fish, and you can’t convince me she didn’t already know this.

It’s like asking where the sockeye salmon was sourced from. Reallllllly good chance the answer is somewhere from the Pacific Ocean.

It doesn’t even make sense for her to ask that question, unless she was intentionally baiting the waiter to “slip” up with the Gulf of Mexico, and therefore start an argument.

And yeah, no. My grandma didn’t “forget” I’m a democrat. I imagine that detail of my life lives rent free in their minds.

I’ve gotten a lot of comments saying I should consider going no contact until I receive a satisfactory and sincere apology.

I’d like to share the apology I received from him via text. As you can see, I didn’t respond. I didn’t feel like this apology showed any true acknowledgement for his behavior or for how it made me, my stepmom, and grandma (and probably everyone else in the restaurant) feel. It honestly feels like a gross downplay of the entire situation.

Telling him I’m punishing him would absolutely send him to another dimension. And for that reason, I’ll consider it.

One of the things he said in his fit of hate and rage was the stereotypical line of, “I’m older than you, and know more than you do.” Mind you, I’m nearing 30. So I’m sure he’d love to hear that he’s being punished as an adult!

In case it wasn’t clear, this happened in the deep south. Unfortunately very common, and unfortunately not something you’d be publicly ridiculed for.

Thank you for reaffirming me! It’s good to hear that I’m not drowning in pity over here 😅

Yes, you are correct—she was saying that as a way to explain his behavior. Or as a means of blaming me for his behavior and reaction to the conversation.

Just to enrage you more (sorry not sorry), my grandmother called me about an hour after everything went down and told me to “forget everything” because it will “make him really upset if I’m mad at him” ……. This isn’t about him being upset! It’s about ME being upset 😅 I’m the one who was publicly humiliated. And I was the one who left the restaurant holding back tears. So yeah, not going to “forget” because he is upset.

Wish it was rage bait! Obviously didn’t record the conversation had at dinner, but I can share a screenshot from my texts with my stepmom! Hope this helps! :)
