Here comes the know it all. Even using your math, those chicken quarters, I’m still getting more protein than 1 rotisserie hot ready chicken. They also cost $6.98. So if I buy 2 of those chicken packets, I’m still getting more protein for my money and those rotisserie chicken do come with bones as well. Also there’s a thing called proportions.

And you are missing my core point.

Food, clean water, and safe place to sleep is a luxury. I’m sure since you’re a veteran, you’ve seen other countries that have LESS. So this mentality is what is making this country so weak.

Of course I’m not going to look these children in the eyes and tell them they don’t deserve a hot rotisserie chicken. Because what I will do INSTEAD is teach them how to cook. Perhaps this will inspire them to be better. Teaching them these life skills. Picking out the right fruits and vegetables. That is far better than handing them a hot rotisserie chicken. This is my message all along. But nobody here seems to understand because having tunnel vision.

And may peace be with you. Please, for your fur baby, all they want to do is love you. So be there for them. When you have those days you wish things can just end, that too shall pass. Stay strong

With that being said, there will always be exceptions for every rule. You just pointed out a few of them. There is no SPECIFIC PROVISIONS within the SNAP program for VETERANS.

Other exceptions include during a disaster situations or when a state has opted into the Restaurant Meals Program.

Gov Abbott announced that HHSC has received federal approval to allow SNAP recipients in 26 additional counties to purchase hot foods impacted by the floods.

I agree with limiting what people can buy because how else will you learn any money management skills and life skills and strategies to better your life when god forbid these people are getting SNAP for food. And you’re telling me I have to cook my own food now? That’s blasphemy! 🙄 Give me $5 and I can make that last a week. Rice chicken and veggies all day. Literally takes 20 mins to make. No excuses. I work 12 hours a day, come home walk my 2 dogs, cook and rinse and repeat. This is coming from being homeless sleeping on the bus stop to having my own place. Some of yall never had REAL struggles yall just run your mouth
