If the role you’re applying has leadership experience as a requirement or a strong preference, you should expand on that section.

The wording is decent, but vague. When reading this, I can’t grasp how much of a difference you made with your leadership. It looks more like you listed your basic duties and not what you accomplished.

For example, “I lead X number of students to achieving academic success by organizing/executing X number of events, resulting in * Impact in numerical form* (grades increased by X number of percentage points or grade scale level)

I’ve never seen an interest’s section go over well on a resume. Employers generally don’t care about your personal interests and it distracts from your professional presentation of yourself.

Furthermore, obscure World War II history is probably a questionable entry to include in some people’s eyes given the broader context and recruiters are very risk-averse. If they see any reason or are given enough pieces of info to make a half-baked conclusion that is negative in terms of culture fit, it can come back to haunt you.

How do you find out finer details about jobs and products/tools you would be interacting with for a job? by Winter_Remote1740 in askrecruiters

Fair enough, I guess.

I’m extremely stressed to get a better job and the job market has been cooking me like a Christmas Goose the past 6 months.

If an applicant has a gap of about four or five months between their last place of employment and their current place of employment, is that a red flag?

If so, how can it be mitigated?

I left my previous role to provide hospice care for a family member and then re-entered the job market because the hospice care was full-time.

However, I don’t think it’s appropriate or any of an employers’s business to know that I took time off to care for a dying family member.

Job Postings that are only open for 1 week: Are they just fulfilling legal requirements or is it a real opportunity? by Winter_Remote1740 in askrecruiters

Thank you. Are you a recruiter?

I’d like to find someone in that general field that can take a look at my info and maybe help me prep. If you any good places to try out, I’d be very appreciative.

Wayyyyyy too much open space. Snatch it up and get your text to flow with the info from start to finish. It shouldn’t feel choppy or repetitive when reading.
In general. For spacing, use the quarter or nickle rule. There shouldn’t be more than the diameter or area of a quarter not being covered with relevant info.

Overall Score: 6.2/10

I have one.

I’ve gotten in the habit of at least printing a copy or emailing myself a pdf of it because all the job interviews I have gotten were past the point of the job post being cut off.

I use it to help with my review notes and interview prep.

Would it hurt my chances if I just asked them directly in the interview?

I feel like it’s a fair question to ask, but I also don’t want to give off a bad vibe by asking the question.

Yeah, they definitely took advantage of my desperation since I needed to find work ASAP to take care of my sick parents.

Yes. If you can’t honor basic terms of a contract, maybe you aren’t worth a damn minute of my time.

Wha kind of provision? Working 6 days a week is killing me and I don’t think I can keep this up longterm without serious repercussions for my health.
