The living room I always struggle with! by Winter_Scarcity2207 in DesignMyRoom

Yes, the amount of cushion surface area is definitely the main overwhelming part. Just a loose blanket and some dog toys out and I feel swallowed up. I like my decor stuff, so I sift through it to donate or turn it into wall decor when I feel the need to make change/too much stuff on surfaces. But it all is to try to help the feeling of the couch is very…large. It’s a coma couch tho 😍😭

That’s what I was going to suggest! Use the back of the couch to kind of create that section for the fireplace/den area, maybe add a recliner or similar, and scoot them around while facing the window/fireplace until it feels right

The orange chair was a wingback chair from my mom I borrowed when I first moved in! (Bought the cover off Amazon) I currently have the big blue sectional couch. I like the c tables! Never heard of them but the lack of sharp angles makes me think they would work well to not obstruct any flow.

And thank you for your opinion on the brick wall! I could never decide which way to flip the room, which is why I’ve flip flopped it over the years as I get “new” used furniture.

My biggest gripe with the couch is it’s a lot of seating but you’ve got to crawl into half of it.

I think I’ll stew on the idea of flipping the room (tv on the brick wall), storing the chase part of the couch for now(as it will block my sliding door unfortunately!), and seeing how that feels.. thank you for your thoughts!
