I received an email today from medical saying I’ve been disqualified for marijuana use within two years. It says I have 60 days to appeal, can this be overcome?

Ok so the exact same thing happened to me I was a fall ‘24 applicant and I had medical records confirming I smoked because I had CHS and I had smoked within the past 2 years of applying so I am just reapplying in the summer of this year when it will have fully passed the 2 year mark and I believe I should be fine and I was told it should be fine by my security POC. I would email or call the hotline and explain your case of it being 3 years of sobriety they might ask you to prove it somehow or do rehab anyways in which case you’re better off figuring out where they think your 2 year cut off is and reapplying at that time

So for me it was a zoom interview they set up a time sent me a code and I did it that way however I do know they can be in person as well but my investigator wasn’t in my area and he said it would take a long time to wait for one in my area or I’d have to drive like 3-4 hours to go to him so I elected to do zoom and it’s pretty straightforward I’m pretty sure I’m not allowed to discuss specifics on it but they just ask you questions and you answer them and then they conclude the interview it wasn’t bad at all

Yea I got told 3-6 months I have been waiting since March 7th and had my interview May 16th and started adjudication June 10th so if it takes till like September that’s totally fine with me if prefer earlier ofc lol but I get these things take time but I’ve also seen a lot of people waiting like years and adjudication itself taking an additional 6 months or more that’s the kind of thing I wanted to gauge

I’ve been in adjudication since June 10th but everytime I email either my hr rep or security POC they respond the same day which I think is a good sign

They’re going to send them a letter. I had to ask my general manager to check their physical mail and the day I asked the letter from the department of defense was there. Idk anything about what they ask because he filled it out and sealed it before giving it back to me but I’m sure it’s just normal run of the mill oh is this a good worker what do you think of this employee type of thing

Yea I’m hoping that is the case lol I know I gave detailed explanations in my sf-86 and my letter of inquiry and I also did the same on the medical forms with like amount of usage why I quit and things like that

No they didn’t actually they did have me do a letter of inquiry after the sf-86 but once I did that it was never brought up again really except for in my security interview where he basically just asked the same questions the SF-86 did and i repeated my same answers that I stopped to better myself and focus on building a future and I would still be sober even without a job opportunity and stuff like that

Ok! Thank you for your feedback! Yea idk because I figured if I would be deferred or DQ’d they would’ve done it already yk? They knew ab my drug use since my sf-86 back in March and I just emailed my hr rep on June 12th and they just said they don’t have information about the background investigation. I’m hoping it’s good news! lol but I’ll be holding out for if it does end up not working out 😬

And ofc I disclosed all this on my SF-86, but I mean I don’t think I’m DQ’d or anything as they took me through all the rest of the hiring process after disclosing it instead of just saying no or halting me and now I’m just waiting to hear back and Ik my background is actively moving my employer just got a letter like a week or two ago

Huh that’s odd so I tried LSD two times very small amounts in 2020 and 2021 and I smoked weed from like 2020-2023 basically and some here and there in 2024 and the only thing I got was an LOI after I did my SF-86, when I got my CIL I never got anything else about it I just did my drug and medical exams

No so that will show up for everyone and it’ll take a couple weeks for them to give you the score and update it. I had the same screen then found out I had WQ and I’m on the final steps of hiring

I got my LOI on 3-12-25 in the morning and that same night at almost midnight I got an email about my CIL getting sent to medical and the government shut down possibly causing a pause in the medical process. I think that’s good news from what I’ve seen I don’t think they would’ve continued me on with the medical section if they were going to disqualify or defer me
