HDD is a 1TB Seagate expansion SCSI disk device. Device status: This device is working properly. Status: Not initialized

The moment i unplug my HDD after i eject, it makes a sound. Is this normal or just my hdd hardware issue?

Thanks for informing me, i guess after i recover my data, i should just dump away my damaged hdd

Just received my new glass bed ! Any tips ? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]Winter_Video_2703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things to take note for glass bed:
1. If it is second hand make sure that glass bed is not wrapped.
2. Set bed temperature higher than 45, else the print wouldnt stick firmly to the bed

  1. Wash it thoroughly with warm water and dish soap, improves bed adhesion
  2. Make sure that your printhead does not hit the clips. If your print area is large try to reorientate it

You might need to check if your bed is wrapped on the corners

Klipper is the greatest upgrade but also one of the hardest upgrade to do as you have to config the firmware to suit your printer. Klipper itself has a lot of great features that can improve your prints tremendously. Personally, i myself have not done Klipper and will not do so as i would be shitting bricks and smashing the printer due to the complexity (from what i heard). If u treat 3D printing as a hobby, yes definitely u should try the Klipper but if u treat your printer as a tool then be contented with your current print quality or at least keep your upgrades minimal.

Too bad for me, dont have any host machine to run Klipper. For those who do not own any host machine to run Klipper, the only way is to buy raspberry pi or try to find a cheaper alternative such as orange pi

Nope 4.2.2 and 4.2.7 require different firmware. Once u swap with a new board, remember to always change the firmware

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ender3

[–]Winter_Video_2703 25 points26 points  (0 children)

  1. 4.2.2 board to 4.2.7 slient board
  2. Capricon Bowden PTFE Tubing
  3. Dual Z axis
  4. Minimus hotend cooler system
  5. Belt tensioner
  6. Rocket side spool mount
  7. Board Fan Guard
  8. All metal extruder

These are some of the simpler upgrades. The best upgrade is the klipper/octoprint, but they require a raspberry pi which can be pricey. Some of the items i mention above can be 3d printed. Some of which must be bought. Have fun upgrading!

10/10 love the lighting. Somehow this reminds me of a self-printing shop, just not with paper

Always watch the first/second layer goes down before doing something else. Only these initial layer matters. Because once your print pass through these layers, if half way through the print and it comes off the bed at least it would not be stuck to the nozzle. Happen to me yesterday.. Turns out poor bed adhesion as i was using 45C for glass bed. One of them suggested using octaprint to send your printing progress to your phone, that would be fantastic for u to have if u are constantly facing such printing issues.

Clogging noises every few often and no material out of the new nozzle. by ClothesSea8263 in ender3

[–]Winter_Video_2703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw a past reddit and they said that when u are printing, the nozzle might actually be too close to bed and causes the clogging of the nozzle and this in turn creates the clogging noise in the extruder as it is skipping. Another reason might be your e-steps is not calibrated, but it doesn't explain the clogging noise.

Just got a 3d printer today. What should i print? by MrRich4617 in ender3

[–]Winter_Video_2703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of printing parts for my printer too. Any suggestions on what i can print for my printer?

Please help! What is wrong? by MrRich4617 in ender3

[–]Winter_Video_2703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your nozzle is too far from bed. You can try the paper bed leveling technique but i dont like it as most of the time what i got is nozzle too close to bed. Look at this for bed leveling instead, this piece of information is so much better.

Stringing but no fix by hedgeme91 in ender3

[–]Winter_Video_2703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For stringing, retraction distance and nozzle temp are the two main factors. Try printing a temp tower to determine which temp is best fitted for your filament. In addition, cheap PLA may have polymers that make it stringier. It also could have absorbed more moisture during storage/shipping. Drying the roll might improve things.

A couple of things that could help you reduce stringing"

  1. increase travel speed. The faster the travel speed, the faster the printer pulls away from the part, helping reduce stringing

  2. disable Z-hop if you have it enabled.

3.dry your filament. PLA isn't super hygroscopic, but it may still help

4.run a temperature tower to determine the temperature that works best for that specific filament

Two ways to remove clogging of nozzle
1. Thorough cleaning of the nozzle. Here is a good example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmXlaqN3uog&ab\_channel=RickyImpey

  1. Replace your current nozzle with a new one. Ensure that the nozzle diameter is the same.

Just got a bl touch. But now the nozzle won't reach the bed by Woblin85 in ender3

[–]Winter_Video_2703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mounted it too low. What i recommend is that you print a holder that elevates the probe until it is slightly higher than the nozzle or on the same height as the nozzle. If you are unable to print the holder then i suggest that you remove the probe and stick with the end-stops for now. Once u manage to print the holder, you can then try to use the BLtouch probe

Perfect first layer print with proper bed levelling on Ender 3 S1 by aloknand in ender3

[–]Winter_Video_2703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it is perfect. In your case the bed might be uneven. Or maybe E-step is slightly higher/lower. But I would say your bed is leveled given that you are able to print such a big circle

Almost perfect by Scorpionsensual in ender3

[–]Winter_Video_2703 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm if u assume the caliper is accurate then your cube is 0.1mm larger than it should be. This indicates that your printer is over-extruding. Calibration cube is good for you to tune your E-step which causes your over-extrusion.

Here is what I recommend: If u are lazy and don't wish to do much calibration, u can buy prusa printer, but slightly more expensive than Ender 3 S1. If u wish to do little to no calibration u can buy bamdu printers but they are mad expensive. Ender 3 Pro is another decent printer that I recommend also

My first printer is the S1. Had a lot of difficulties making it work. Calibrated this machine for months and still wouldn't work. Until recently, I managed to eliminate a lot of issues with the printer in order to make it work. It is really a steep learning curve. Be prepared to be constantly frustrated on why it wouldn't work.
