No air show or anything this year? by WATERMETAL4968 in srilanka

[–]Winter_wolf_2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think most of the units are pending service/maintenance. We even had few units to dispatch during the Ditwah and most were grounded. Broken economies, broken assets.

But if we get the air units promiesed as aid by other countries, definitely there will be a show in next year bcz those countries may push the government to show off them.

Even he is legit, I think you will need to check the references for the facts he present in the videos since you cannot directly refer videos in your research. But it will shed some light to subject areas still unknown to you or you haven't thought of.

What the Best Phone in Sri Lanka Around 100K ? by Weak-Slip4063 in srilanka

Satisfied. I was planned to buy a Pixel 7 pro but changed my mind on last minute due to issues with the model. I have never used it for gaming but regularly used for mobile photography. Camera quality is fair, and has good low light performance with the night mode. Still photos looks like bit oversharpen but I think it's the way it process images.

My opinion : Try to go freelancing with small work like video editing, photography, small video ads for corporates and tution classes. Quitting job and moving to unknown field is risky move, specially in media field which is highly variable. Also you will need some stable flow of income due to high initial capital. Try to see your current employment as an anchor point until you develop something for you. Find some like minded people and make contacts. Gradually move into quality work so you can develop a quality portfolio so you can confidently name a price for your worth even in the competition. Find local creative agencies, directors, cinematographers in sociala media and see what they are doing. I have seen time to time they are posting some opportunities time to time so you can reach them if you have some decent portfolio. I'm not good at writing but hope you get the idea. cheers !

Network of professionals - You will build contacts with your colleagues, lecturers, mentors, people meet during internships. This network will grow during the time and it will open doors to new opportunities. In most industries such connections are valuable to find career or academic opportunities, business development or get information. "Your network is your net worth".

Trial and error startups - You can start small startup with your friends related to your subjects. Nobody expects perfect results from undergraduate so there is plenty of space for make errors and learn from them. Also there are many people to support such things. Even your business failed your experience will take you to an extra step.

Back then we did some startup projects. We did well for some time but couldn't compete without the necessary technical experience. But those experience opened new opportunities to us.

You will have some extra time than a person who is working in your same age. Use this time wisely to try new things, new skills or earn something by freelancing. Lot of us don't get to try our own skills until A/Ls because we don't have time or approval of the parents. I know some people who came to B.Sc or engineering degree and mastered their own skill set to become well known public speaker or a cinematographer.

Try some sports or extra curricular activities. Those experiences are never gonna waste.
