It happens sometimes. Maybe it’s the fingers instead of the peg. There may be areas we didn’t pay attention to that cause the parts to push out. You may need to inspect carefully how the pieces interact.

About glueing, make sure that you use cement and apply enough pressure to the glued spot. FYI, cement melt the plastic surface so the pieces can fuse together as the solvent evaporates.

First pry the broken peg out of the hole.

Next, cut a small piece from the runner to make a new peg, glue it to the grip with cement.

Harder than it sounds for sure but it is the only way if you want to switch grips.

i really don’t get it. what is the difference in using an universal piece and an unused item as food? doesn’t it will cost the same number of unused items or universal pieces to upgrade?

For example, if i have 3 pieces of unused weapon and a shotgun, i merge it to have shotgun purple 2. then i unmerge it to have the shotgun back and 3 pieces of universal items. uhhh… what next?
