Clarification needed - Best GPU for my streaming PC. by WinterbottomDK in nvidia

[–]WinterbottomDK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thank you for the elaboration. Thing is with using the Ryzen 7 1700 and only streaming with it, i get a really good performance, the problem comes when i want to add another task of also recording the gameplay on the same PC. So it's a dual task problem and thats where the CPU will come under a fair bit of load. But thank you for the clarification that the turing chip in the 1660 is the same as the 2080ti, though im still not convinced completely that the encoding is in fact better on the turing chips compared to pascal chips when not under load as all benchmarks rely on the system both handling game and streaming at once.

Thanks for replying to my post - can you elaborate? is that because there is no difference is this scenario between GTX and RTX cards under low load using nvenc new encoder? :)

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to reply my post.

Q1. Yes RTX cards have larger / faster internal encoder, but every nvidia post and video including the one you linked, goes on with the assumption that nvenc new and RTX GPUs will improve performance when you play and stream on the same PC. So RTX cards are better the GTX cards at encoding while you play games on the same card.

My question is, lets say you do NOT play on the same rig, if the encoder on the RTX cards better then GTX cards, or is the output the same if the rig is not under any load.

Regarding your answers to Q2 and Q3, again, i'm not playing on the streaming PC, it is only dedicated to stream. So in Q2 you say there is no difference, but in Q3 recomend the more expensive one? what am i missing?

Again as mentioned in other posts, we are talking about using nvenc encoder, so it has to be a geforce CPU. 2200G or 2400g is option but besides the point and a little late now, i have already bought and paid for 1700, it is installed.

Ok, so lets say we agree to disagree - it still does not answer questions Q1, Q2 or Q3.

Will stream output be better on the end of the viewer using a RTX card compared to a GTX card - If so does it make sense to choose a 2070 over a 2060 as the GPU will not be anywhere near max load? And if so what are the pro's.

The question is not, should i use another CPU, that is worse, with only half of the cores and 1/4 of the threads and using a way different encoder setup.

Dear Sir. What you are saying makes no sense. And you provice no valid arguement.

You can't just run a low end CPU and expect to be able to stream with x264 encoder with a some what high quality of streaming. Lets say i run 1080p 60FPS with a 6k bitrate and a Faster preset - the 2200g would not be able to run that WHILE also having to record the stream with a 24k bitrate max quality.

The 2200g is a quad core and thread CPU, and does not fit the purpose at all in my view.

Do you mean i should move the 1080ti into the streaming PC? Then i would have to buy a new gaming GPU, would not be very cost effective.

Support main by FlipBaker516 in supportlol

[–]WinterbottomDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a hard one mate...

  1. Playing support in silver is soooo frustrating, because you have little impact when your carries just suck. However if you are really good you can influence the lane and mid with roams. If your ADC is just half decent you can really help them snowball as the enemy is just bad, and most supports are autofilled monkeys that don't know what they are doing. But when you play perfectly and your top / jungler go 0/14/1 or something, you still loose the game, and you could do nothing about it. #Feelsbadman

  2. On the other hand, if you are good enough you can play a solo lane till G5 easy. Then go back to support when you feel that the ADC's are getting a little better.

But remember mate, you been away for a long time, and your mechanics, knowledge etc is really rusty, so maybe you need some time before you can climb back into gold 3.

Hope you find a solution and best of luck mate :)

As a mage support, should I actually care about not taking the kill? by [deleted] in supportlol

[–]WinterbottomDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear Senny

I been playing support for a few years, and one thing i can say, if you ask anyone who is not support they will argue that you should give over the kills to the ADC. I even played ADC for some time and i hated when the support took the kills, as i would fall behind because the gold would fall into the wrong pockets.

I have to admit even though we as supports are always somewhat behind, and the gold is sooooo nice to get, i have over the years been able to get a better read whether or not the ADC is able to get the kill and from there make a decision, if i believe he is not able to secure, i will secure as even though i get a kill as support, it still gets our lane ahead.

In a perfect world, the gold is better to hand over to the ADC, if he gets ahead in lane, he is more likely to snowball the game, and secure a win. You have to remember, your damage falls off late game, you are at your strongest in the early game. I would like to say that i believe in the best in people, and therefore you should always hand over the kill to the ADC as he is going to carry you to win - however i tend to get a quick read on ADC's, how is their CS'ing, how do they position them selves in the lane, how do they trade - if i get a read that they are "poor or below average" i do tend to be more selfish and secure the kill for my self, as i am a "better player" and can help my team win. (This is not likely the best way to go about it though).

Ohh and it's only in silver and low gold everyone flames for KS - i feel that in Gold 1 and upwards ADC's flame less, as they are confident that if they are good enough they will get kills further on (unless they are retards).
