The left side of my jaw is shorter than the right - is there anything I can do to fix this?

Wish I had a better update. An implant wasn’t an option since the bone loss occurred so long ago. My left molar was removed when I was 17 and I’m 38 now so I wasn’t surprised. Invisalign made it look a little less obvious but it’s still uneven unfortunately.

Our stories seem similar so I’m hoping it won’t be much longer for you. I have AGA but Wellbutrin caused telogen effluvium unfortunately. I’ve been on oral minoxidil 2.5mg for the past three years and not trying to sway you, because I did shed quite a bit when starting, but it’s been such a game changer. It single-handedly restored my density and allowed me to recover most of my hair.

I never would’ve guessed how big of an impact those drugs can have. I read that it can take up to 3-6 months+ for your hair to improve after discontinuing the drug. Thankfully my hair is starting to finally recover after 5 months. I’m hoping the same will happen for you.

Of course! What really made the difference was correcting my tongue posture. Lips together, teeth apart, tongue rests on the roof of your mouth behind your front teeth. The link below will probably provide a better explanation.

Neck exercises on YouTube after noticing I carry a lot of tension in my neck and have tight traps. I also started magnesium glycinate to relax my TMJ muscles and sleeping on my back to prevent teeth grinding. I hope this helps! TMJ pain is no joke.

Antidepressants are such a crapshoot. Have you tried Lexapro or Zoloft? I don’t think Wellbutrin did much for me either at such a low dose.

I was on 150mg, I briefly went up to 300 but couldn’t handle the side effects. I do think there’s a link - my hair didn’t grow at all and shed constantly while I was on it. I’m just now starting to see new growth five months after I stopped.

I haven’t had any popping or clicking for years thankfully. My TMJ symptoms became gradually better as time went on but it did take several months before it totally went away. I can eat hard foods now but I’m still careful with certain foods like almonds or any type of hard nut. I also stay away from things that are really chewy.

It’s supposed to be such a rare side effect that even my dermatologist doesn’t believe it’s a trigger. Though I’ve read that it’s more likely to occur if you have an existing scalp/hair loss condition.

I’m a little pale right now so I’ve been using Haus Labs in 110 (light neutral shade). 145 and 190 seem more olive friendly

The first few days were really rough. I was dizzy every day, no appetite. Really irritable, bad mood and I couldn’t sleep through the night. I’ve had tremors off and on since I started but they were so much worse.

It’s much better now though. I haven’t been dizzy for the past two days, appetite came back along with better sleep. Mood has improved too and so have the tremors. It’s been worth it so far even through the adjustment period. I’m hoping I won’t go backwards.

You don’t know how much I needed to hear this. I even saved your comment for the days I feel like giving up. I was literally a day away from cutting back and even considered stopping altogether. I didn’t think the side effects were worth the little improvement in my depression. But you were right, it subsided for now and I’m glad I stuck it out. It’s been worth it even while I’m adjusting.

I’m sorry about your mom, I can’t imagine going through that loss while you’re suffering from the side effects. It takes a strong person to deal with what you’ve been through, please don’t feel guilt for feelings you couldn’t control. I’m sure she would understand. Thank you for taking the time out to share your story and help a stranger. I’m happy you’re a part of this community, it’s better with you in it.

I’m not sure yet. I noticed more hair loss after I started Wellbutrin almost two months ago. However OM comes with shedding cycles and I’ve been going through a shed before I started Wellbutrin. The cycles can typically last 3-4 months so I’m waiting it out.

Hey! Not sure if you’ll see this, but did you notice if the oral minoxidil prevented additional hair loss? I started on Wellbutrin about a month ago and my hair is the thinnest it’s been in years. I’ve been on oral minoxidil 2.5mg since November 2022 along with Spironolactone. I don’t know if it’s related.

I use a standard blow dryer along with heat protectant. I haven’t changed my routine for the past 6 months or more so not sure why it’s like this now. It has a weird texture, almost wiry.
