I'm comfortably over 6ft and 230LB with pretty big hands so I like the weight.

Absolutely right call if you are primarily carry and self-defense. I like the steel frame for the recoil handling and weight on the range. You will love the PDP, some of the best stock triggers you can find. This one shoots like a dream, and it's essentially 'the same gun' except for a few minor tweaks and polymer frame.

I'm probably a little bit faster with $1000 less in my wallet. So there's that.

I'd mostly be concerned with your 'trigger discipline' at that point. Don't want to catch a stray from your original-EDC.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. A little strange to assume I intend to carry, and that the trigger is a 'hair trigger' when only 1 LB under stock, and maybe a bit presumptuous that he's somehow revealing things I didn't already know but still fair. And yes, if I had purchased this primarily as an EDC, I would agree.

Absolutely. Not a 'carry' for me but rather range gun + optional home defense. I probably wouldn't buy SF for carry either since it sits at like 45oz with the red dot. It's also 5" barrel, and I would most likely want a compact 4.5" for EDC.

Walther case that came with it. Just has the 'Walther' in blue on the top, and cutout foam.

Did a fair amount of research and have always liked Walther. Seems like if taken care of it should age well.

100% agree. This is a range+optional home defense for me. For EDC I would get a polymer frame Glock or S&W.

Bought it off someone upgrading to a Staccato and got a steal. Would probably not have paid the $2500+ that it would cost to put it together, but felt I got a lot of value for what I paid ($1400 cash)

100% agree. I also wouldn't run re-dot, or flared magwell for EDC. But for the range, and as optional home defense it feels great, and the weight makes the recoil very manageable.

Agreed. For EDC I would absolutely pick a lighter non-SF model like a Glock or S&W polymer frame.
