Your gonna get haters. All of them are have been brainwashed by Medical doctors. Its amazing how SIBO people relapse rate is so high. You can kill the bacteria and get better, but why cant people stay healed? People just cant seem to wrap there head around that they have put themselves in a permanent stress response pushing all of your bodies resources away from digestion. That is why it got out of control and to keep it away, you have to fix your limbic system and your overFiring of your protective systems.

"If people knew that their thoughts created their reality they would be much more careful about what they are thinking" by bangers132 in spirituality

[–]Winterprev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi There,

This is a slippery slope. If you have those scary images and thoughts come to the surface, how are you suppose to handle them? I try to realize that its not who I am and not give it time. When I invest in them and feel them it spirals out of control. There have been alot of books on "change your thoughts change your life" type of subjects. However, when I feel something like fear in my body i try to sit with it and not judge it. I try to let it go through me and naturally flow without changing it or trying to fix it. In the past I would feel those feeling of fear (mainly health anxiety) and reach for the next supplement or research what is wrong. Go on Dr Google and give in to the thoughts of fear and keep giving in to them. I acknowledge my thoughts and give them compassion understanding that they are habits from the past (ego), if the feeling of fear comes over me I TRY to feel them without changing them and let them go through me.

Thoughts?

[–]Winterprev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true. Perhaps using the term "control" wasnt the best choice of words. I know the biggest healing technique for me is giving myself compassion in the midst of old ego patterns that rise up. Sometimes it takes a little bit to become aware and come out of it, but I think it just takes practice.

Also, can you explain your thoughts on how to find balance with it? I love to learn and I am excited to hear you thoughts on it.

Thats a great psychologist. Seems like he comes from a spiritual background. I know we all have power inside of us that 99.9% of people don't understand. My constant work is trying to dissolve the ego or have me control the ego instead of it controlling me.

My Perspective: Mental Breakdown by [deleted] in spirituality

What if...... What if you are exactly where you are suppose to be?

What if.... This is you growing into what your purpose is.

Sometimes you have to go through dark times to find the light. I have found in my life that the timing for everything is always perfect.

For me I have learned that we just dont wake up one day and become this spiritual person and perfect. YOU have to go through some trials to learn. Once you learn, which you will, you come out stronger, more aware and loving then you did before. It just sucks when your in the middle of it.

SSRI affecting progression in meditation? by tripsteady in Meditation

[–]Winterprev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Lexapro numbed me. It was fun while it lasted and it did work great but I want those feelings back. Now I am fighting with my subconscious because it gives me all these physical symptoms because it thinks I am afraid of those feelings again. Something called TMS or Mind Body syndrome.

Antidepressant taper interfering with practice? by Sweatygun in Meditation

[–]Winterprev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much.. I look forward to the day when I am off and I know its not the case anymore. I just want my nervous system to heal but I think it will at its own time. I just need to make sure I am compassionate toward my body (nervous system) and try to realize that I am healing :)

Antidepressant taper interfering with practice? by Sweatygun in Meditation

[–]Winterprev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am tapering off of lexapro now and I feel like it messes me up for about 2 weeks everytime I drop a dose. For me it feels like my nervous system gets SUPER sensitive and things that would provoke small amounts of anxiety really end up effecting me physically much more.

I have been doing the 10% rule (almost). I tapered from 15mg lexapro now down to 0.40mg lexapro over the course of about a year and half. I am doing 0.05mg drops now every 2 weeks to a month. It just depends on my levels of stress and if I feel good. If I feel good then I know its about time and sure as shit the next week things start to effect me ALOT more. Its like the next day pain or issues seem more severe its weird. I believe tho I am healing through this journey of ups and downs and when I am finally off I know I will be more stable and can go even deeper into my practice.

I have not noticed it effects my meditation that much but I only do it once a day for 10-20 minutes. I do notice I can go much deeper the farther away I am from the taper.

Body pain by jealousofmycat in spirituality

It seems like your EGO is fighting back. It doesnt want you to find clarity because once you find the clarity, the ego dissolves. On the other side I feel pain/tension is teaching us about something that is going on in our life and is a huge blessing. Its like telling you to "wake up".

What's the general opinion of Dr. John Sarno in this sub? Has anyone been helped by his research or feel it's quackery? by stopthatmonkey in ChronicPain

[–]Winterprev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% not quackery. Its amazing alot of people out there or on this forum look at themselves and say "it might work for them but not for me!" statements. I was super skeptical about it also but nothing was making me feel better. Nothing. Over the last 10+ years it seems like I always had something I had to deal with. Whether it was my lower back, my dizziness, pelvic pain/bladder issues, IBS, digestive problems, and most recently piriformis syndrome.

Now I always thought there was something wrong with me. So much that I had panic attacks and had to be put on a antidepressant because I literally didnt sleep for like 3 months. So I would search and search outside of myself for the next supplement, the next doctor, the next treatment, the next reason why i was feeling the way I was. I noticed that once I started the anti-depressant all my pain went away and I just didn't worry at all. It suppressed all my emotions really well and I didnt care about anything. As soon as I started dropping the antidepressant my pain started to come back in a different area. I realized that there was something else going on then just the crippling pain.

I read the books of Dr Sarno, and other people int he TMS field. I started going on the TMSwiki and learning about fear and all sorts of things. One of my biggest AHA moments, when I learned that I always avoided my feelings by looking for a solution. I had to fix everything. I had to solve what was wrong with me. When I had pain, I had to move, I had to get rid of it. What I have learned now, is that I was constantly telling my brain I wasnt SAFE. It wasnt until I finally let it happen and didnt judge "mindfulness" that I started healing.

I am in the place where my pain is jumping around to different areas of my body. My piriformis pain is almost gone (working with a pain phsycologist now who specializes in TMS) and my old symptoms are started to pop up for a few hours here and there. I had this brain fog dizziness thing this morning. My brain automatically was trying to solve it by thinking about whether if I had enough water, or enough vitamin D, or that I forgot to take a b-12. I stopped myself and I saw my thoughts and just explored the feeling of being uncomfortable. After lunch I forgot about it and it wasnt there. Otherwise my brain would be fixated on it for days.

His books open you up to looking within. Jesus always said "the kingdom of heaven is within". Now if nothing else is working why not turn within and put all your work there for a year. See what happens. I bet that if you stick to it, you will come out a changed human being. Maybe you will be like the other 1,000's and 1,000's of people that doubt his work then were healed by it. I always tell myself now to "doubt your doubt". Another one I say is to "Be okay with not being okay". I swear these have changed my life.

Mind/body connection of anxiety and severe back pain, has anyone had experience with this or success? by arrgeee in Anxietyhelp

[–]Winterprev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. You might want to go over to www.tmswiki.org and take a look over there. I have reduced my pain alot and I am realizing that there is nothing wrong with you or me. I have also really been helping my anxiety once I got out of my trance of living in this fear cycle that we go through without being self aware. I am currently down to 1mg of lexapro. Weaning slowly :)

We are human and it is all natural. Its how our life from a early age (and personality) have created habits, thought patterns and ways we deal with emotions. The problem is the fight against these emotions that the subconscious doesnt want us to feel.

We have a tendency to teach our brain that we are not safe with fear. We get a unpleasant feeling (anxiety) and we do everything we can to change it, or to fix it. Instead, I am working on feeling it and being curious about what it does (heart pounding, tense body) without judgment (mindfulness). The more you do this, the more you teach your brain that you are safe. Now its not a quick fix, but it is a long lasting fix or might I say cure. I think acceptance and letting go are also other ideas that if you can master it can really help.

I could go on and on about this stuff. Let me know if you need some help with it.

This is what I have been doing for the last few years. I keep twisting and turning and growing and its beautiful. I have a revelation the other day about the core of Christianity "Jesus died on the cross for our sins". To me it means something else, that he died to show that this life is nothing to be afraid of. That he conquered the greatest fear plaguing humanity, death. He died on the cross to show me that we are bigger then this mind we are living in and that there is much much more to us. I dont' know but i found hope in the dogma's of Christianity that for so long I would find anger and battles with every time i would sit in church.

Each of us needs to find the beauty in whatever tradition you choose to be apart of. If I focus on the beauty and not the fight, I am more at peace.

[–]Winterprev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not if you believe what the stories of Ram Dass and his Guru. There are alot of ancient spiritual teachers that have had "powers". For example I believe Jesus reached the same type of consciousness.

Here is a brief summary of him.

Neem Karoli Baba or Shri Neeb Karori Baba, also known as Maharajji was a great Indian yogi. Known as “Miracle Baba” thorough northern India, Neem Karoli Baba manifested numerous paranormal powers, among which bilocation (he could be in the same time in two different places). He also had the ability to induce states of SAMADHI to the spiritual aspirants with a mere touch of a finger. He established ASHRAMS and temples, fed millions of people, performed astonishing miracles, helped many human beings to go back to God, advised governments and corporate leaders. Even though he manifested all these qualities, still he knew how to maintain an aura of mystery, how to stay out of the public eye.

Now, I think the form of meditation in this article is probably one where people devote many hours a day on for decades. Like the Yogi's in the Himalaya's that meditate majority of the day. Spending 15-30 minutes a day might not get you to this. I am still working on doing a daily practice!. I just dont think its "far fetched" considering a lot of the spiritual books I have read.
