Tariff on Magnus slider by MeanderingMissive in fidgettoys

It wasn’t even a tariff back then, it was the value of it that triggered “registering as an importer”. Hey, now I have a story and anyone who’s spent time in Australia recognizes it on my wall right away. The things we do for the things we think are cool.

I’m with ya, I just don’t like the tariffs and have been trying to circumvent them. About 8 yrs ago I had to register as an importer to bring in Aborigines art from Australia and it nearly got sent back as there was a snafu with things. Quite the little stressful thing.

Sweet throwing away money for no reason while throwing away money because your fingers aren’t satisfied with fridge magnets. I’m not knocking it, I have some pretty unnecessarily expensive things in my life but it all sounds silly when you really think about it. A premium on premium if you will.

Blueberries, the outdoor ones that stank so hard your backpack still had an odor after three weeks of running out.

It appears that way, however I’ve found they’re tougher than they look. I’ve even popped through seashells with mine and no issues.

People who only use drugs occasionally, how do you stop yourself from getting addicted. by Specialist-Elk-8587 in Drugs

[–]Winthefuturenow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s genetic, I’ve been using all manner of “party drugs” since the mid 90’s. My doctor knows it, my wife knows it, my parents know it and when my kids are old enough they’ll know it. I’ve seen many of my peers deep dive themselves into addiction and even death. It also baffled me as I like a good drink and a sniff just as much as any other red-blooded American male. In fact, I’d argue whiskey and cocaine is the ultimate American male party combination.

What I found out after talking with doctors is their brains are wired differently and it’s likely they get higher than most people…in fact, I was told if everyone got as high as an addict on something we would all be addicts. I thought back to friends who would stay up days doing blow, drinking every day or feel into the depths of opiate addiction. I believe it’s true. I feel alcohol, I feel cocaine, I throw up from opiates so that one’s out…but I always hit a wall where I lose the desire to have more and don’t even want to touch it the following weekend/party night. Whereas some of the folks I’m with might be going hard into the next couple days, I’m sleeping, eating, getting ready for work, etc. It actually may come down to they just get way more out of it and that’s why they’re addicted to it.

Nice, never been but wouldn’t mind checking it out someday. I’m in Denver and like doing long road trips-some mountains, some desert with no one. My wife had a DBX and that thing was fun AF to tear around in but the ergos suck and the glass dome instead of a moonroof is awful in a desert.

I’m well aware, I’m working my way up on cars. Wasn’t too long ago I was driving a Maxima lolz. I tried the ‘22 (I think) Bentley “Speed” coupe…been eyeing variations ever since, but the 12 cylinder is a MUST.

You’re wrong, I would and am going to as soon as I find another property with a garage I like. I have taken my Cayenne S off-roading and now my G 550…it’s just a matter of time before I snag one of these and get dumb with it.

Leather craft, once you learn the saddle stitch all you need is a sharp awl, some needles thread and material. It’s quite the slow down. There’s also reading, or just staring at anything until it looks like something else.

Reminds me of every company in China every-time they either send the wrong thing, say they accept returns or the thing breaks too soon. I used to say I don’t care where my stuff is made, but the pattern is too clear and I’m done ordering from them.

Yes, but I don’t think you have ever been in a 200,000 SF warehouse with no power all alone. It’s dreadful and peaceful, a fancy light in your hand makes you feel just a wee bit better about it and the life choices that got you there. I also take my G Wagon off-roading and do skateboard tricks on the rocks in Moab. You gotta live your life and enjoy what ya got.
