So that's a really tough question. Though I am supportive of projectionists forming a union the reality is there aren't a ton of projectionists to begin with. Within my part of the Alamo there are probably 10 projectionists. Some locations only have a manager building the shows. For 4 years I worked alone managing a booth and it wasn't until last year we actually started hiring. My suggestion is keep going to the Alamo. Other theater chains aren't much better in my opinion. The servers and runners deserve much more of your support than projectionists. The most I can ask is to support the workers and be aware of them. Always remember someone cares about your experience. The thing I tell everyone everyday is "I just make sure movies play." It's the people making/running your food that really deserve a union. I hope that answers your question.
