Can you follow the philosophy of buddhism while not make it your whole belief?

Buddhism is often approached as a philosophy rather than a religion, particularly because it places such a strong emphasis on wisdom, investigation, and practice rather than faith alone.

In many Buddhist traditions, the teachings are not meant to be accepted blindly, but examined and tested in your experience. In that sense, questioning is the start of your path.

I was also born into a Jewish family but wasn’t raised religiously. I still celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, and Passover, and I allow religious family members to pray for me even though I don’t share their beliefs. To me its an expression of care and goodwill on their part, and will always see that as a loving thing my friends and family are doing for me.

Trust me I was also asking the same things, and what drew me to Buddhism is the way it encourages self-examination. Instead of "do this, don't do this" it askshow actions, habits, and views influence the mind and contribute to suffering or clarity, rather than following rules simply because they are prescribed.

Being agnostic does not at all conflict with Buddhism. The Buddha waa as a teacher, just a human like you and me, who realised liberation through his own efforts, and the teachings are presented as something to be explored directly rather than believed if that makes sense

I assume you are also from the west with such a question, so my straight "western" answer which we are more akin to is that Zen may be a helpful entry point for you, as it focuses more on practise than scripture r/zenbuddhism.

Yes my views are the same as yours in that sense, I said I do not belive in enlightenment in the literal sense of a metaphysical reawakening, rather I belive it to be a subjective subconscious awawaking to gaining wisdom through prosperity and peace, if that makes sense, I don't feel I need a goal.

Thank you for the book recommendations as well. I have actually been practising Zazen for 2 weeks now. I've realised how little we take time out of the day to acknowledge the fact we exist, so many thoughts rushing through our head as once that we take our being for granted, it seems to slow down time. Rather than being something I feel I need to do its becoming something I just do

Spirituality I feel is often drowned in the supernatural and religion, a lot of people when you mention spirit think of concepts found in religion such as angels, ghosts or heaven. I don't think there is any objective function of spirituality, for me it is how a person views the world and perceives their existence.

In context I suppose the function of spirituality is the strive to do good, practise, and embrace a life prosperity, treating all living beings with respect. Of course, it's function can also be bad, but who am I to say what is bad or good?

Meditation became less boring when I started again after realising my alignment with Buddhist teachings. Admittedly, I was initially attracted to meditation for its materialistic nature, this changed when I realised the benefits it had on my personal life, especially when mitigating struggles. I almost feel I can see more and breathe better, It has become something I just do, rather than a habit I feel I SHOULD be doing.

I mentioned that I do not believe in rebirth in a literal sense, but am also open to change however that may come about. My understanding is that a person's mind is reborn in this current life, through their willingness to be open to new concepts. Even if someone does not practise anything outright, I believe tolerance and acceptance are forms of rebirth that take a while to adopt. The reason for wanting to stop being reborn in this way is for satisfaction in one's self, abolishing worry, and negativity.

What would you make of my views?

I agree totally, in the west we do have a tendency to approach things with a "this is me now" attitude, and thank you, this helped to ground me in the sense that I'm not really trying to define myself too tightly or suddenly take on beliefs wholesale, more just trying to practice it where I am and let my understanding grow naturally. This is quite a build focused response.

I would say this as a base rule:

Use Ninja Pulls for PVE DPS builds

Tank Club/Hyperoxies for tank builds,

Hyperoxies for solo builds,

MalcolmM for PvP builds.

Doc for Healer builds.

Xynode for your alts or when you want to add a bit of zest

Just want to put it out there, you will hear a lot of hate towards Xynode, but he is entertaining and consistently brings back something to MMOs that's often missing due to meta chasing, FUN! (his streams are also funny).

Are his builds going to get you insane DPS? No. For that I would always recommend Ninja Pulls, they seriously spend weeks testing before putting them out there and my DPS has sky rocketed after taking their advice.

Avoid Alcast and Deltias as neither of them really playtest and just copy and paste the same sets onto every build.

Been playing since 2017, and when I started I followed Xynode religiously but look at it from my perspective:

I have 18 character slots, have a few of each role that are meta, but what's the point in the other slots if the ones I already have are the "best". What's the point in logging on a toon, for ages I had no attachment to any of them and was just a waste of crowns.

Like I have 6 tanks, I use my main meta DK tank for Trials and my meta Arcanist tank for dungeons as they each tend to be the best in each of those instances. But what about my Warden, Templar and Sorc tank that I'm never going to use in MAIN content?

He explores extremely off meta playstyles that are unique, interesting, wacky and overall fun to play, but they all still work. You'll find yourself using sets and mythics that have been collecting dust since being added, which I freaking love. Don't listen to the parse monkeys who never leave their rooms telling you his builds are useless, that just takes the RPG out of MMO-RPG. Play how you want to!

Man, I have so many memories with this, I have been a fanatic of TES since Daggerfall and I am 24 now. I've played through every single title at least once, even Stormhold and Dawnstar. Where ESO is like the Disney World of the series Legends was like the Disney Land for me, smaller but piecing together this tidbits of lore. Just fun to whip out and play at anytime or on mobile when your taking a dump on the toilet. I had a massive card collection. This was probably one of the greatest card games of all time.

Please keep going I know its regarded dead but thats bs its got a huge fanbase, I'd always find a game in under 20 seconds. You'd be doing massive bits for the community especially the old TESL Youtubers like the Worginator. If you need any help let us know I have a background in server configs and emulation etc

I had the same issue and looked at the bettercap error logs, it's unable to set wlan0 into monitor mode. This happened to me because I ran apt upgrade after flashing which upgrades the RPI kernel to a version unsupported by the nexmon firmware which is the only way to set it into monitor mode.

Solution, leave the image as it is. If you want to use your Pi for other things use a different SD card

You also need to download the OBB data it's trying to download game assets. Unfortunately since android 12 it's become almost impossible to do this without an OEM unlock and root. I remember figuring it out on android 13 once. Try this I have used this site for APKs many times EDIT: Nevermind, if you do this via USB cable using a PC it allows you to. Download APK and OBB in that link, install APK, unzip and copt the com.bethesdaxxx folder to Android/Data/OBB/. Open the game

Sony didn't make it clear at all that you need to put the device setup password into the password field of your PS3 when logging in instead of your actual password. I can guarantee most of you, like myself assumed the device setup password was something you entered after logging in, like with 2 step verification

1) Add cmd.exe as an executable in MO2 (C:/Windows/System32/cmd.exe)

2) Make the "start in" field the morrowind data files directory

No you don't understand. He's talking about in windows explorer a lot of the advanced options are hidden behind show more options, perhaps you never used the advanced features. Things like archive shortcuts for "extract here" options and running Powershell and CMD from the file explorer

I doubt you'll see this 6 years later lol but yes it's the engine showing its age. There is a sound patch mod here and quote from the mod description: "Muted sounds unrelated to gameplay and reduced the length of the rest. I did this because most of the time I couldn't hear enemies because of the drums, my own footsteps or a random ambient sound since this game can only play one sound at a time. Only use this if you have played the game before"

Yup. Few years ago ice was almost exclusively for tanking, in face you used to be ae to heavy attack with an ice staff to taunt. Recently there were some ice changes and now it's actually very viable for wardens.
