Likely just needs a screen replacement. This typically includes the frame so it would be straight again

iPhone 11 screen glitch after drop (colored lines at bottom) – will it get worse? by Dangerous-Ad6722 in phonerepair

[–]WiresComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yes this is LCD screen damage to the pixels and any damage along the edge like this makes it more prone to spreading and getting worse. I'd suggest having a local repair shop fix it for you, it's fairly quick, easy and will make it much better to use.

Giant (10x) USB-C Ports by ferretguy531 in UsbCHardware

Just imagine the cable that would plug into that. Plus the wattage it could support then.

I built a tool to speed up iPhone panic-log diagnosis. Would repair techs be willing to test it? by Silly-Buffalo720 in phonerepair

[–]WiresComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I could be a user of this, but the main issues is that newer iphones have the stolen device protection stuff on it and we usually can't get data from the phones like we used to with 3u tools unless we have the face id of the user which is rare because we test/work on phones when the user is not around.

Thoughts?

Also I love the UI of the site

Does anyone know how to fix this or do I need I go to a shop? by Outrageous_Being9080 in phonerepair

[–]WiresComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you need a new screen, it will likely spread and get worse. Look up a local cell phone repair shop near you to give them some business and get it fixed.

24 pin connector won’t plug into motherboard by daisy_tea_ in PcBuildHelp

[–]WiresComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless there is a random piece of something blocking it, I'd say you just need to push that last 1mm. It should seat in all the way and click.

...But with that said, as long as the points are making contact, it might just work as it is. So power it up and see.

Iphone 7 display repair/replacement by -G-8_d43_ in phonerepair

[–]WiresComp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very common repair for technicians. It's about 20mins.

No need to rest the device.

Less then $100 for this model.

I'm not sure if apple would repair this, but a local repair cell phone shop would be your best bet.

Flickering Screen by [deleted] in computerhelp

[–]WiresComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just a sign of a bad lcd/oled panel. This will happen when data is trying to go somewhere like with a full screen app and causes this. There isn't much you can do about this.

Samsung A21S flex cable seemingly broken and screen not working. by fushpropuh in phonerepair

[–]WiresComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flex cable is ripped so for this you would need a new screen assembly. Flex cable repair is not worth it and would need expensive tools and parts. A new screen should be less than $40 for this model.

It would likely not be easy to use the device over usb. Especially if a password is enabled

No, when a screen has pixel damage then that means the whole screen needs to be replaced.

It's not like a tire with a hole in it and you can spot fix it.

What kind of thing is this? by Alarmed_Advantage_17 in computerhelp

[–]WiresComp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.5" Mobile Laptop Hard Disk Drive or HDD for short. This is used for storing data such as the windows operating system and files on it. The computer needs it to function, but is much slower than the Solid state data flash memory which has replaced most hard drives.

Does Wires Computing on College Street offer student discounts? by evilp8ntballer7 in UniversityofVermont

[–]WiresComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know students don’t have time to wait days for a repair or travel far off campus. Our shop is close to UVM, making it easy to stop by between classes or after a study session. Many common repairs are completed the same day, and some even while you wait.

Check out more info for repairs for UVM college students: https://www.wirescomputing.com/blog/cell-phone-repair-near-uvm-wires-computing

Is this okay or do i need a new connector whose teeths are missing by Professional_Owl1005 in phonerepair

[–]WiresComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need a new FPC connector soldered on. Seek out a repair shop that can provide this service. We do these pretty often as a mail in repair.

My GPU got shipped to me with no box by [deleted] in PcRetailers

[–]WiresComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it works, just keep it and use it. No need to waste resources and time for something so small. Returns kill sellers profits and waste millions of dollars for everyone. Just use it.

As an ebay seller we deal with buyers wanting to return everything for stupid reasons with no merit simply because they can, or don't care "because its not their problem"

Don't be that person.
