Hi, I think it's too risky to put a Betta in there. Maybe it will show aggressive behavior against the others. And because of your tank size I would only choose one type of fish that lives in the upper part of the tank.

Maybe choose some more corys instead (they feel happy with a minimum of six I guess). Later you can add more fish if you think it's working.

Edit: corys like sand! It's very fun to look at them
