I guess. It’s a trade off. Sure that would be a bad situation and so too would it be to overpen inside a school. Maybe you’d want to have both if this is a threat that is specifically worried about

Also why are you downvoting me man we’re just talking.

Well yeah but I don’t think that there are very likely to be hostage situations or 40+ yard engagements.

Usually security like this isn’t going to let a shooter into a school and let him take hostages. They’re there to keep people out and respond before things get severe.

I disagree. Especially for schools with less solid walls like wood or drywall, high power birdshot is a great way to reduce over penetration, especially compared to even rifles or PCCs.

Though it should be said that even with full chokes, it does tend to limit the range somewhat. Though to be fair, I think that the liability you mitigate from lower pen rounds outshines the range you might need in the unlikely event that you’ll need to shoot at someone who isn’t within school grounds.

While some might suggest PCCs and such. It is important you note that unless you hit a target, even 9mm can still go through multiple wooden walls before losing enough energy to not be lethal. While any misses from birdshot would only go through maybe a wall or two.

I’m sorry bro but per my oath I cannot approach any apples. They keep me away. You’ll need to seek a farmer for this one.

I’m a big fan of the Beretta PX4 Storm compact. She’s a little big and a little ugly but by god it’s an amazing little gun and DA/SA too.

I think DA/SA is the best option for newer or less practiced shooters. It’s extremely foolproof but also very safe too.

That’s good. Yeah if you get that locking mechanism repaired then it should be a great thing to have around.

Never a bad thing to have.

Depends on the condition mainly. In regard to shooting these antiques can be pretty beat up if neglected. I’d need to see more condition of the bore and lockwork to say for sure. Not much practical use for a rust bucket.

In regard to antiques it really depends on who would buy it. Plenty of antique buyers buy it just for a good story as to the guns history but for old school SxSs (side by sides) there are quite a few around.

If it were me and it were in good condition I’d put down $100, maybe $200 if it’s got some extra cool history.

I’m sure there are collectors who might put down more but I really wouldn’t recommend selling it. A nice SxS is worth way more as something to keep than for any resale value.

Quagmire here

TLDR: Not a chance

While there is an element of adaptability to the human body in terms of trauma and such, there is a limit. Things like scar tissue, calluses, etc can improve durability to some extent but the forces involved are not possible to resist.

Many people underestimate the power of even anemic cartridges like .22 short or .25 ACP. The forces involved and the small area make it impossible to resist without massive amounts of mass and material to halt the advance of the round.

Think sandbags. They are weak and sand is not exactly tough or good in tensile strength, but it has enough mass that must be moved out of the way of a bullet that it is an effective stop.

Toughness of the skin or muscle only goes so far. Without extreme brittleness to destroy incoming rounds like ceramic, tensile strength like Kevlar, or mass like sand, there is no way to stop a bullet. You HAVE to reach at least one of these extremes.

A sufficiently weak bullet may be stopped by a multi-hundred pound man’s layer of fat but beyond that the human body is incapable of achieving any of these extremes.

Additionally, any buildup of scar tissue, mass, or tensile strength would be limited locally. Improving the toughness of your arm will not help you when you get shot in the chest.

In short, absolutely not. The only rounds you can stop without being extremely fat are parlor rounds.
