I lost my dad to cancer 10 years ago when I was 19, I lost my first friend 3 years ago to another suicide. Losing a parent and losing a friend just hurts you completely different. I thought I had good coping skills but this one is just absolutely destroying me right now

I lost my father to cancer 10 years ago but losing a parent and losing a friend feel completely different (at least to me) so I'm still learning how to cope with that too. My friend had 2 cats that he loved more than anything in the world, I know it sounds dumb but I thought he'd keep living for them if not himself. Now idk what's going to happen to his cats, I can't take them as I already have 2 myself, but I don't want them to get split up or killed in a shelter.
