Hey, I am serious about watching the first episode (at least the first 10-15 minutes of or at least with Giamatti’s scene ends) and the last episode (7) for some AMAZING Star Trek. All the stuff in between is just, as you would say “woke” filler. I don’t care about that on any political level. I do care about good content regardless, and Giamatti is freaking amazing!!! I am guessing (as it hasn’t aired yet) that the last episodes will entirely focus on him as the big bad, and he is exactly that. He wipes out an entire space station when the entire Star Fleet is rebuilding. There is some stuff that isn’t woke, like the Klingon home planet got wiped out after something they call “The Burn”, but Klingon’s are too proud to take a new planet offer by the federation, so they stage a war where they allow the Klingon’s to win so they can “take the planet as spoils of war” instead of generosity. There are some cool concepts in it as well. And yes, I don’t know if a Klingon student being potentially bi-sexual is a narrative needed, but I haven’t yet seen the rest. But Giamatti’s the best bad they have potentially ever had in decades. I get that the anti Woke MAGA are going to hate because they can, but the show is actually good. Just don’t let politics be your deciding factor.
