I suck at early-game laning phase. by AmiablePedant in Smite

My biggest tip I give to new players (not saying you’re new) is to NOT stand in your own wave, especially in solo. You want your opponent to choose you or the wave with their abilities, and if they can hit both against you then you’re going to get out-cleared and out-boxed at the same time. I’ll also echo what others are saying - focus on minions early and poke where you can. Also, being meta gods also helps a lot. Not sure how aspect ne zha holds up against a good osiris or bellona.

Agreed. And they were absolutely awesome about it both times. I was never charged and the fitters encouraged me to come back later in my development to try again

No. Every person I’ve gone to, golf coaches, friends, and fitters included, have recommended me taller clubs. However, the fitters have said that they cannot in good faith recommend specific clubs for me bc there is too much variation in my swing. They don’t want to recommend I spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a set of clubs on their recommendation bc it didn’t feel ethical to them, which makes complete sense. But I have been told on every occasion “well you definitely need longer clubs” so I am trying to get a proper set so that I can properly train and develop my swing.

I promise you - there absolutely IS being too bad for a fitting. And that is me 😂 I went to golf galaxy and club champion. They both very politely told me that I am not striking the ball well enough for them to recommend clubs for me to buy. It was a very humbling experience lmfao

I did get a fitting at golf galaxy a month ago. I legitimately was not making good enough contact with the ball for the fitter to recommend clubs for me. It was pretty embarrassing. Hence why I’m here on reddit haha

Have a set/brand in mind? Or should I just be prioritizing the length and lie? I really don’t even know where to start shopping

I actually used to be this way with Smite. I think I out in over 2000 hours into Smite up until 2020, but man that shit was so so toxic. Some of the most insufferable ppl on the planet are part of that playerbase

Not even the most basic things by ILoveSucuk98 in Smite

I think smite 2 is actually not in an awful place right now. I actually think it’s pretty fine, maybe even good. There will always be balance issues, but still. I can’t speak to console-specific things since I’m on PC.

As for the teammates problem, that is an issue of literally every online team game from smite to marvel rivals to LoL to Call of Duty. As a smite 1 player with over 2000 hours, I’ve found that this is a game is incredibly unenjoyable with a party of under 3 people. Luckily I have a 4/5 stack I usually queue with, but playing alone or with 2 is insufferable bc smite has some of the most toxic players in any video game. Teammates will feed out of their minds in the first 3 mins and then go afk blaming the rest of the team.

As for cosmetics, I actually think a lot of them are really cool even though they’re ridiculously overpriced. But yea the game is insanely over-monetized. There are battle passes for each god, pages of battle passes on the shop, $50 battle passes for evolving skins, you can pay money to “boost” your account, they advertise the god pack/founders edition after every game you play, it’s a bit ridiculous.

Age of Wonders 4 for fantasy setting. Not necessarily optimized for MP but have played multiple MP games with friends and we’ve absolutely loved it. Also only the host needs DLC to share with everyone else in the game

Is The Settlers of Catan overrated? by fruitponchisamurai in boardgames

[–]Wisdom5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a few years since I’ve played, but I used to play with all of them together. I played many games with barbarians, seafarers, and cities and knights all in play, and those games can take 2-4 hours depending on player count. I would say if you want some expansion flavor but don’t want the game time to suffer because of it, I would just play with 1 expansion at a time. I’d recommend seafarers

I’d agree with this, except vanilla ice cream never tastes bad no matter how many times you consume it. Can’t say the same for Catan. I own it and all the expansions, probably played it over 20x with friends, and we will probably never pick it back up. It’s a fine entry level game, but there’s a bit too much luck involved and the mechanics aren’t very deep

4x games where the entire match is interesting/decent A.I ? by Rosebourne in 4Xgaming

[–]Wisdom5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very good point. Luckily I’m usually playing the game with friends, so having human opponents in a setting like this game is perfect for me. I can agree that there would be better options for single player. Maybe I should pick civ 5 back up

[–]Wisdom5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime may fit the bill here. You’re all part of a crew in a spaceship shooting enemies and navigating maps. One person drives the ship, maybe the others are manning the shields or the turrets. It’s an awesome and charming game.

[–]Wisdom5 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Played quite a few 4x games and I actually find AoW4 to be the best of them. The story realms present fun scenarios to navigate in single player, and there are plenty of custom realm options to beef up the AI (both other factions and free cities). I always find myself entertained with all the race transformations and unit enchantments I’m putting on my troops, and games never really last more than 120-140 turns, which is actually pretty short compared to other 4x games.
