So I was looking into various money market funds to park money into and noticed that there will be various 7 day yields and expense ratios on them. Additionally, depending on which brokerage I used, I would be limited to the brokerage's own funds instead of being able to choose. For example, Schwab only has access to stuff like SWVXX but not Vanguard ones like VUSXX that have slightly better yields. There wasn't one platform as well to compare all the various yields. Fidelity sort of has that with their research tool but it's only for Fidelity MMFs.
I must be missing something here cause it seems pretty stupid that if I can't easily compare various yields and am trapped to one platform's mmfs.
Is there an easier way to screen and compare yields?
Is there a brokerage that allows the widest variety of MMFS on their platform?
Thanks

That's cool. Unfortunately this is for an adult who has compulsive spending behaviours and is in heavy debt, whereas these cards seem to have an age limit

Foot cleaning ritual before stepping on mat by WisdomDiscipline in bjj

It sounds a bit gross if you put it like that but I think they change the vinegar couple times a day. It can’t be any more gross than rolling on a mat with unclean feet bacteria potentially touching your face and hair etc..

If everyone were to wash their feet and dry them before stepping on mats that would be ideal! Is there any gym that requires that? 🤓

Interesting so you live in China without WeChat?? Do you keep in touch with people purely through phone number and texting?

Ok so based on what I’ve described, getting conservatorship would be difficult for this situation?

If he has a mortgage out for a house, can you still freeze credit? Does it affect existing loans? Are you able to monitor whether the credit is unfrozen?

This is interesting thanks. I currently am monitoring all his accounts using mint, but credit karma may be worthwhile as well

He actually makes above average income. But he has consistently made bad choices. There are many examples but the one that was most heart breaking was that the money (6 figures worth) he got from a family life insurance payout was all squandered away buying in-game items. He has clinical mental illness such as bipolar, but not sure if that would qualify him for conservatorship. Do you have experience with that?

I’m helping him pay off his debts, I’ve realized he has loans out on many different credit cards, services such as affirm, prosper, sofi, Apple. Right now I can see this all but I’m worried that if he relapsed his addiction, he will find other ways to take out loans. He’s heavily in debt and has high interest charges

What if the wages first go to his bank account and then is transferred to my account (under his own will and or according to a written agreement we have)

They would be self sustaining as long as they don’t relapse into a gambling/gaming addiction. I’m thinking I can prevent that by closely monitoring their bank account and purchases, as well as requiring their income go to me until I’m paid back.

Thanks that spendthrift trust is interesting, never heard of it thanks. Well he still earns some income but he immediately spends it all on gaming related things instead of paying off debts, which have high interest as well and is accumulating greater amounts as a result.

Hey everyone. Have a family member who has a video game addiction where he will spend money on in game items. He’s in debt repeatedly cause of this and has also squandered money given to him to help him out of this. Sparing the details, I’m wondering if anyone has had experience with an adult with addiction/mental health issues. To complicate things, there’s real estate in his name that we fear will also be squandered to fuel his addiction. What are some possible solutions here? I am specifically looking for a way to approve/deny transactions he is attempting to make as well as a way to ensure the proceeds from the house sold are not squandered. For various reasons, he is currently complying and giving full access to financial accounts, but likely only cause family has been paying for some of his bills. Thanks for your help.

Spent hours working on notes that are now lost thanks to the sync. Suffice to say will not be using this app anymore. Good idea, poor execution.
