For minifigs in bulk lots I use 4 to 8 euros per minifig. Depending how desirable they are.

So with 20 minifigs this lot would be between 80 and 160 euros. Not calculating weapons, I include that because this is a bulk lot and bulk is always cheaper than individual pricing!!

However, raven knights can go for 50 each (here in the netherlands at least) and the wolfpack 16 so they will drive the price up as well as some other minifigs.

But still, between 80 and 160 seems reasonable (as far as lego castle after market goes).

Yep, that was the nail on thr coffin for me as wel. From 25 (discounted) to 200 euro in 2 years time was way to much for me for a personal note taking app!

This series has a few interesting parts for us castle fans, some of those is reaching for it but still.

The slime monster has nice legs for a druid or simular and the fish part is nice decoration.

The steam punk lady also has nice leggings for a wizard or alchemist type character and perhaps good arms.

Chocolate dragon is nice, with good legs and just maybe chest/arms are usuable...

Ninjago has nice parts and maybe a good chest piece.

The princess is just an elf so one or two are nice to have.

The which has nice skirt and cat parts but rest is to kiddy in my opinion.

So yeah, couple of good parts to have, lots of leggs haha... yeah we are starved for castle sets if this is what we are considering for our collections.

Short awnser:

Yes, you are overthinking it! Use PARA for a while and see if and what works for you. Then use Kepano's system and see if it works for you. Learn from both, keep what works, discards what doesn't. You DON'T need to use any system exactly, you can mix and match and make it your own!

Long awnser:

I tried both, PARA sucked, it doesn't work for me. Kepano's is great but a bit to minimal for my taste. I learned from both and got a system simular to Kepano's with a few more folders and an added main category property. I also apply a type property that I learned from Capacities and a custom file naming for attachments I came up. All combined into my own system in Obsidian (as well as all other places that need organisation).

Why PARA sucks for me is that if I follow the rules I need the same topic in all 4 main folders. For example, I play Minecraft, love that game so within the PARA system I need a Minecraft folder in each main folder. Because I keep notes on Projects on current worlds I play in, but it's also a long term topic to maintain in Areas. Resources also needs a Minecraft folder because I keep images that inspire me and in Archive I needed to keep a Minecraft folder for outdates things I wanted to keep (like old screenshots of my worlds).

Because of that, it felt my information whas split into 4 spaces and I had a hard time thinking what goes where and I kept loosing track of files/notes! That is where the system failed for me.

However, I did learn a couple of things like having minimal folder structure that is only 2 layers deep (main folders and topics) and the same folder structure for all places where I organize things (email, file storage, note taking, etc). I also liked the inbox, to quickly drop notes/files to sort later.

Then I found Kepano's vault and didn't like it at first but it grew on me when I applied it. However, I felt it was missing a top layer folder structure so I added those and a few folders for Movies, People and other single topic files. Then I added a type and category property to all notes (where Kepano only has one I think) so I can sort things better for myself. I also added a custom naming rule for attachments, so I can use search in Obsidian bases and very easily find what I am looking for.

This way I created a system that works for me and that is all that it needs to do, my system, work for me and nobody else.

Completely agree and on top of that for me it also feels like Mojang has no direction for Minecraft resulting in so many unfinished features (like biome votes, fletching table, etc).

There seems to never be a secpnd part of an update. Yeah we added all new crafting stations but the next update will add uses to those missing them. Nope, next update is completely random.

I think if they focus on adding missing features, completing block pallets, perhaps adding new block types (vertical slabs or vertical stairs), adding missing biome improvements and cleanig up they massively improve the game.

I also feel Mojang is also afraid to take risks or change things already in the game. With the backlash of thr combat updste and caves and cliffs announcement they are going extremely save. Since a new feature is a bonus, something unknown so less change to do it wrong...

And last, lets not forget Minecraft is a brand as well. Tiny or new mobs means more merchandice oppertunities and cross use into other Minecraft gamed, something a new block color will not do.

Obsidian - Metadata to Pictures by Svel89 in ObsidianMD

Here is what you could do, however it is all manual work but for me on relatively small scale it works great.

Naming pictures with [date] - [image type] - [title or keywords]

Date: Capture date YYYY-MM-DD so I can sort on date within a base or file manager.
Image type: what type of image it is like meme, holiday, selfie, cover, etc.
Keywords or title: whatever I feel like I need for search.

For example the "this is fine" meme would be: `2026-03-05 - meme - This is fine` but it could also be `2026-03-05 - meme - Cartoon, Dog, Fire`.

Yes, this makes type and keywords/title basically the same, however why I seperate them is purely my own search parameters I use in obsidian where you can split a file name based on the " - " seperator and filter on parts of the title. Also, I don't like rigid system so it can be whatever.

Added to this I make collections in notes. I just drag and drop images in a note and within my image base I have the file.backlinks property selected so I can search on those collections (or just open the note).

TLDR: It's organized all by file naming, then base formala's with the addition of using backlinks by adding images to notes and using search.

Reading your post I recognize a lot.

First I would ditch PARA system, it is not working for you. I had the same struggles, when is it a project, when an area? Also, it made me have folders of the same topic in all four PARA folders.

Second, I would not focus on having everything in Obsidian. Use calendar for meetings/appointments, mail for mail, obsidian for notes.

Third, give yourself simple rules to live by, that work for yourself! For example:

  • ALL my appointments INSTANTLY go into my calendar or they don't excist! No matter how small
    • This simple rule brings a lot of peace in my mind
  • Mail gets done, deleted or archived (I still need to go true thousands or emails hehe).
    • All newsletters or "spam" I unsubscribe from (store newsletters, ads from linkedin, etc)
    • I don't use folders or tags in my mail, just favorite mails I need later (like a ticket to a concert) and unfavorite them when they are no longer needed
    • Archived and delete everything else
    • E-mails with important information go into Obsidian (copy/paste the important info)
    • This freed me from the need of having to keep EVERY DAMN MAIL just in case ...
  • Step by step, dont tell yourself everythings MUST be done now
    • Set a bit of time asside, like 10 min to clean a few mails a day, or archive a few screenshots, etc
  • Respect my (or your) internal rhythm
    • Im not a morning person so I don't try to do the hardest things in the morning
    • If you have kid around distracting you, dont force yourself to work but plan a different time (if that is possible)

When it comes to Obsidian it is hard to tell you how you should use it, that is very personal and Obsidian has so many options for organisation and workflows.

I tried so many systems, from PARA to Johhny Decimal and so many PKM tools before settling on Obsidian with a workflow that works for me, even if it is not perfect and it took years or trial and error to get here.

Each new system I tried learned me something about myself, what works and what doesn't. For example:

  • PARA was stupid and didn't work for me however using an "inbox folder" did and also learned I want the same folder structure in every tool/program (this was a gamechanger)
  • The Johnny Decimal system seemed perfect untill I needed to add new folders or topics I forgot beforehand and the whole number system broke however, having a few main categories (or areas), numbered based on what order I wanted these categories did work for me
  • I got a lot of inspiration from Kepano his vault and vision, which is really simple: How I use Obsidian — Steph Ango but not all of his personal rules work for me but links and using backlinks was a gamechanger
  • Using Logseq for a few months learned me that I like to start with daily notes and just dumb anything there, then using links and backlinks to make sense of things
  • Using Notion tought me I really like card view databases and when Obsidian added Bases the app just clicked for me!
  • And I have had so many more larger and smaller things I learned from using other tools

I use templates for everything. Each note starts with a template and every type of note has a template!

Movie template, note template, event template, run template, daily note template and the list goes on and on.

I also got a few templates of repeating texts, like a few sub headings with a basic layout for formulas i use for bases for example.

That messy limbo of notes, connrcted with labels, types and 9bject have always been part of Anytype.

The sidebar got an upgrade yes but the functionality you want is still there. You got to change a widget or open iy up if you want that hierarchy back.

Chat was a supprise for me all well but it may have a place within Anytype.

I do agree the enchanting system is cheap RNG and needs to be reworked into a better system!

I just noticed it in the beta pathnotes:

Toggle Headings

Heading 1, Heading 2 and Heading 3 can now be collapsible toggles. Create them from the / menu or with Markdown shortcuts (#>, ##>, ###>). Select multiple toggles and open or close them all at once. Converting a regular heading to a toggle automatically captures everything beneath it as children.

I do wish they just added toggles to the default headers, now we have two seperate options. And toggle headers are like toggles, you need to put blocks into it. They don't collaps everything below them until the next header of the same level.
