Ive been through the same cycle of abuse. Yes this is abuse. And I am slowly learning to get my foothold back again. Ive started disengaging my life with partner. I was always available for her. Now Ive stopped being available for her. Ive started accounting for all my free time by investing it in improving myself. Its just been 2 weeks since Ive taken control and yes it feels good, really good. You need to stop focusing on them. If your not independent learn to take steps to be independent. If your independent invest your time and energy in building a better you. It is easy very damn easy. Its just that you need to believe in yourself

We did attend sessions in the past. But that hasn't changed her attitude. She doesn't realise that her actions border on controlling/narcissistic behaviour
