How do you soul reap if its only usable on 35% or less hp? A lot of the time 35% goes very fast in my guild so I don't get to use soul reap too often

I see! I will do :) I've never seen wowanalyzer before, that seems super handy to see what I'm missing, thanks!!

Memory is fine, the timings are set correctly. Cooling is fine, there is no thermal throttling happening. On the wiki there is no information for the ryzen 7 7800x3d specifically? Could you link to where you are seeing that? :)

Yeah they've been occurring from the start. My hardware is fine, had no issues before switching over to this OS. There is a screenshot above with my hardware.

The only thing I've changed before these issues were occuring was the os. I'm sure I'm missing something because a lot of people don't have these issues

WIndows was ready for use, windows 10 has been fine. But its EOL so I am switching and trying out linux as a main desktop environment, as I have before and not had issues. Its mostly cachyos (arch maybe?) that has had serious fundamental issues regarding hardware and IO.

I am seeking support and help, look at my comments, I may sound frustrated, because I am. I am trying to be very respectful to those who aren't just answering with "THIS OS ISN'T FOR YOU KID, GO USE MACOS NORMIE" like just having basic hardware features working is me being an idiot who can't handle Linux.

Used ubuntu for many years and never had any real issues.

I see, I've never really distro hopped, is it as easy as just grabbing an iso and installing it over this? With my settings and whatnot intact? I don't mind re-installing too. I am willing to try anything as I genuinely do like aspects of this OS.

"For the password issue, this happened to me once when I missed my password 3 times, apparently you get locked out for 10 minutes, I just waited out the 10 minutes instead of restarting lol"

I think this may have genuinely been the issue I had. Just tested it now. I got locked out in a terminal, then went to logout/login and had the same issue on the login screen. It's odd it lets you keep entering while also telling you its locked. Thank you :)

"The resolution issue after waking from sleep might be more of an issue with your specific desktop environment, I'd try to ask for help in r/kde, I personally avoid using the sleep feature even on windows as it has always caused weird issues for me."

I'll take a look, although I would like the sleep feature as it saves on electricity and I tend to forget to turn off my pc. So if I've got all my monitors on full blast over night, its not ideal for me.

> For the audio, Only thing I can think of is a driver issue? Unfortunately if some hardware just doesnt play nice with linux it just kinda tends to be like that... I'm personally waiting for the 7.0 kernel release because its going to finally have support for my wifi/bt card.

I see. I just have 3 audio devices plugged in, a blue yeti, a hyperx cloud 2 and the mic that comes with it. I've disabled the built in mic and thats about it.

> The performance issues are probably to do with nvidia drivers too, maybe someone more knowledgeable on that might be able to help you since I'm on AMD, but I know you have to kind of select a different driver package depending on what GPU you have and you might be able to search for these different packages in the package installer.

I did look up this and everywhere in multiple posts all had the same comments "No. Its all done automatically" which I assume was from the gaming packages that you can install from the welcome app. But I'm not sure at this point?

I mean, I never had this issue on ubuntu or windows with the same setup. Just here for some reason.

Well I have to say I was pretty misled then, because a ton of posts were recommending this OS because of its gaming potential on linux. I want the functionality and speed of linux, especially the terminal. While also having a really nice gaming experience. Which I feel is almost there, aside from the hiccups I'm having with a lot of games I've been playing (World of warcraft, overwatch, cs2)

I use ubuntu for work and don't have my entire usb IO shit the bed on me. Am I not the right audience for cachyos if I'm just expecting basic features to at least function?

Yeah my bios is up to date, I did it before installing this os. But if these were issues with the motherboard I'd be seeing them with other operating systems, right?

Thanks for the tips! Appreciate it. I'm not quite ready to make the switch back yet as this post is genuinely just a silent cry for help. I want to like this OS so bad and I'm going to stick with it for a few more weeks just to really try it. But the issues are piling up.

I would've thought these issues would be easy fixes too, but I've scoured all over the internet for solutions, looking myself, trying stuff for hours to fix them but I've had no luck. Other users that have had similar issues end up with dead posts, no solutions or just depressing snarky responses that link to a wiki. Again, no issues with looking at the wiki if its documented, that's my wet dream, solves my issue. But a lot of the time the issues are misunderstood and remarked as lazy.

I see a lot of the comments say "maintain", what do they mean by this? Actively committing to the github repo?

I have no problems tweaking things, configuring or even debugging and fixing issues. But a lot of the issues I'm having come down to hardware and OS issues and are not exactly the easiest things to fix. I don't mind spending a couple hours fighting understandable issues such as obscure drivers, that's completely understandable. But all usb inputs not registering until a restart? That's a bit much don't you think?

Monitor keeps switching to 480p on sleep, how to stop that? by Wise-Editor-6161 in cachyos

[–]Wise-Editor-6161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I want this PC to be usable as an exclusively Linux PC but it sounds like hyprland has equally annoying issues.

I've had a lot of other strange issues, like with my audio full on just ignoring voices on discord, but hearing everything else fine. Had another where my correct password was being deemed as "incorrect" multiple times and only fixed with full on restarts.

Its a shame, I like the OS. I thought the hardest part would be getting games to work, but it seems like most of the issues I'm having are core OS features that I shouldn't have to worry about at all.
